Hi I was wondering what do you guys think about Home Aquaponics Garden- A Beautifully Simple & Closed-Loop Ecosystem Right on Your Table it costs only $60 but if it works .... All ideas are welcomed
Its possible but the low water volume is going to be a bitch to control. I really don't see that small of a tank supporting very large plants either. If you don't have considerable experience with plants and aquatics I don't see it turning out well. If you want to jump in to aquaponics, a larger volume system will be less subject to fluctuation and provide more area for bacterial growth that is required to complete the nitrogen cycle.
$60 I like it and want one for my kitchen, but I wouldn't pay that price. Could probably copy the design and make one for a few bucks, especially if you already have an air pump. edit: check this out [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Rl7H-HMMBA[/ame]
