Can I get toner by just doing pull ups and push ups

  1. Hey Blades, so I want to know if I can get toner by just doing set's of pull ups, push ups, and dips. I do this for about 20 minutes every other day, and i've been doing it for about a month and a half now. I also run a few times a week. Is this enough to just get a toner more defined look?

  2. Yea of course. You wont look like batista though

    "Quality, over Quantity."

  3. If you eat exactly the same as or healthier than when you started.

  4. I've been eating healthier. Im a vegetarion but that's only because I don't like the taste of meat. I eat a lot of egg's with veggies and such.

  5. Don't do sets of like 30 pushups...do shorter sets of like 6-10 reps of more advanced and difficult pushups. You'll see better results.

Since you've been doing them for about a month or so you should have some general strength so move on to more difficult exercises.

  6. Muscle doesn't tone. It get's bigger, or it shrinks. To get the "tone" look that everyone talks about, you wanna lose weight mainly. Your muscles will show better with less bodyfat, thus looking "tone".

If you wanna put on more muscle, you have to gain weight. You can't gain muscle size while losing weight. Your body is really good at doing one, or the other.

So if your looking to show your muscle tone more, lose weight, but if you're not happy with your muscle size, you will have to gain some weight first and put on muscle, then lose weight to show your muscle tone more.

Rinse and repeat til your body is at your desired goals.

  7. I was thinking of buying one of those jackets you wear filled with weights of your choosing. Becuase pull ups have become alot easier, and cardio wise I think it would help a ton to!

  8. yea that's a good idea. Try different grips though like wide grips and whatnot. Also, try and get to doing muscle ups. They are fucking hard as hell and will probably take you awhile to work up to. Do some dips or other tricep exercises to help you progress.

  9. Go to a gym. Buy weights or use heavy shit. Just pull-ups wouldn't suffice for me you should just grab a pen and google/YouTube various workouts and mix them into a planned workout schedule with slowly growing increments of resistance/repetitions. Protein in Any form is Extremely helpful and water is Crucial. Is your pee yellow? Then more water won't hurt.

  10. I've been drinking more water to make sure it isn't. Im sticking mainly to my home because I was never quite sure what to do at the gym. I always felt out of place trying to figure out how each of the machines worked and such. Plus I would only be able to go maybe twice a week, while at home I can do it every day.

  11. You can get a backpack and keep throwing more weight in as you progress.

  12. Now that's a good idea that I hadn't thought of :smoking:. Thanks man.

Don't do this. Weight in a backpack isn't in a great place for carrying. Especially the amount you'd want for an actual workout. Bad for the back.

If you must do this at least get a real weighted vest.

    This.

  15. So Im going to start juicing soon as well...When ever I pick up a juicer. Considering that winter is almost here...I usually get a little more lazy. Figured this would be a good way to stay healthy while doing general sets of things such as pull ups and push ups etc.

Why? Juicing removes the good part of fruits and veggies (fiber), and just gives you the worst part (sugar). At least make smoothies instead of juice.

  17. How do you make smoothies instead of juice? From what I have been reading and people telling me starting the class with a glass of juice from all sorts of different veggies is excellent for you. I would probobly have a glass in the morning, and one at night with my dinner.

  18. I drink this everyday,

2 apples, 1 pear, 1 banana, cucumber, 3 or 4 handfuls of spinach, couple hand fulls of berries (raspberries, blue berries, strawberries, etc) and hemp seed and milk.

Blend all that together and enjoy :)

Because you're throwing away all the fiber and just drinking the sugar. Fruit juice is only marginally better than soda. Sure it has vitamins, but it is mostly sugar.

A smoothie has all of that healthy fiber. Along with those same nutrients. It is just better than juice.
