Can I decontaminate my bud?

Discussion in 'Beginner Cannabis Consumption & Tips' started by mcg22788, Oct 29, 2014.

  1. I apologize if this has been covered before but I couldn't find much on this topic, maybe because there isn't a way to save bunk buds or people just have money to throw away, but I need some help here.

This particular marijuana was rubbed on a CD surface and caused small visible scratches, some of the buds kind of have a spark when lit, they are heavily crystalized, it smells like chemicals(like new car tires), and the ash is greasy. Unless these are symptoms of poor flushing, I am pretty sure this is bud one should avoid smoking, but is there a way to "decontaminate" weed that has been sprayed with Brix Plus or some other similar weight gain additives? Something along the lines of soaking the bud or making hash/cannabutter to avoid consumption of potentially dangerous additives instead of just tossing the batch?

Thanks for all of the replies and help in advance.

  2. Since you have no idea what it is, just toss it. No one can know the ability of those chemicals to dissolve in polar or nonpolar solvents, so something that takes the good could very likely take the unknown bad stuff as well

Even though it's what I don't want to hear, I fear your solution is probably correct. Thanks for the reply, ducky.
