Can i change soil in flowering? +++rep

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by outdoorinvestor, Sep 23, 2010.

  1. my old soil is really shitty and i think its making the drainage really bad where im starting to get nute locked or something and i was wondering if i can do something like use water to get the crappy soil off the roots an replant it in foxfarm?

its beginning its fourth week of flowering and i dont wanna ruin anything but at the same time its getting like a nute lock look on some of the leaves..

  2. u can transplant into new soil but during flowering this probably isnt the best idea chances are you would damage the roots and badly shock the plant could end up being a hermi good luck

  3. Sure, you can transplant it into new soil, but be careful during the process. I believe you just take the plant out, root ball intact and place it into the new soil.

  4. ugh this sucks.. thanks though :/

  5. Might stress them, though, during flowering.

I say take it as a lesson and use good soil on your next grow. You dont want to lose whatever you're going to get from this batch.

    just my 2 cents.

    peace.

  6. I'd just let it go man.. If you try you could hermi it this far in flowering and with all that I wouldn't risk it personally, but your call. Does your pot have drainage holes in it? If so if you are having nutrient lock then you can always flush to adjust or just water with regular water for awhile. I'd also put some earthworm castings as well or soak egg shells in the water to balance ph. (just be sure to remove the shells) Then I'd switch back to your flowering nutrients one week then to mollasses the next, but thats just my rotation.

Pics would help if you have any way of posting if not hope this helps a bit. Later man

  7. I would listen to the rest of the guys. I would transplant to better soil and try and take out some of the bad soil to an extent but don't take it too far. Flowering definitely not the best time to fuck around. :smoke: Hope it all goes well man gl

  8. If you take out the whole root ball successfully, and put soil under and around it into a bigger pot it probably wont have any negative affect. I would let it rest for a day in dark after transplanting it if you decide to.

  9. FLUSH,

let dry, then bust most of the soil you can out of the pot with a pencil or screwdriver.

then id just keep flushing until atleast half if gone then add new soil and slowly mix around the root ball.

other then that give it some super thrive on the roots and maybe it wont get to shocked.
