Can I add soil on top of cover crop

Discussion in 'Growing Organic Marijuana' started by 2cent420, Feb 18, 2023.

  1. My soil has squashed down and my pots half full it was measured lol so should have had a lot more soil than needed , my 55 l pots are half full with 45l soil

I have cover crops on top clover etc but my root all has filled the soil , I have a peat ewc mix with alfalfa limestone etc sat with em1 bran so like a bokashi soil and I want to add it to the soil , can I just put 2 inch on top the cover crop and re seed? Like leave the green layer beer the new soil lol

  2. you can easy lift the cover crop(clover?)
insert the mix up to 1/2 inch (12mm) of the top then re insert the cover crop

    water well

    good luck

  3. The clover is well rooted and the plant rooted too lol there is no way just a root ball lol

  4. Just cover it with your fill. You dont have to do it all at once. Add a thin layer and water. A few days later repeat. The cover crop should push right through. With clover I have totally covered everything by an inch or two, and it just pops back through in a few days.
    Cheers
    Os
