Like, my dogs gettin too chubby and i always feel bad eating in front of him cause hes starvin man. Can I give him carrots and lettuce? He's had em before and loved em.
have been. we go fo runs. he has bad hips so im gettin them stronger work too. ...wait...that doesnt make sense
I don't know if it's more of a bone issue or joint issue for your dogs hips, but a dog I used to have had bad bones in her legs. We put yogurt in her food and it always seemed to help a lot. It's good for a dog's bones and health in general.
stop giving your dog treats in between meals, buy some diet doggy food, take long walks. when you go on long walks go at a slow pace, let your dog kinda lead the way, i have an old dog and when she gets tired or doesnt feel like walking anymore she starts pulling me towards the way home.
Id talk to a vet before changing his diet but if hes getting fat, you either are over feeding him or not taking him on enough walks
You could always google anything you're about to give him, just in case, but I'd reckon a couple small pieces of your salad might not be too bad. In moderation, of course. Definitely always make sure first, though. There are some things that animals shouldn't have that were kind of a surprise to me. Grapes, for instance. I remember trying to feed my dog grapes when I was a little kid but he'd just nudge them around on the floor with his nose and never eat them. Which is good because apparently grapes can damage their kidneys.
I will attest to that claim, my golden retriever got into some grapes 3 years ago, spent 2 months and 15k hooked up to a dialysis machine at the UC Davis animal hospital, fighting for his life. He's ok now, back with me, and in case anyone wonders, it was worth every penny.
