can anyone point me in the right direction?

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by Littypitty, Oct 6, 2021.

  1. Hey guys she's about a month old and hasn't grown vertically at all can anybody tell me why? Dr. Earth homegrown soil maybe 10% 90% perlite under 6500 k fluorescents.....will get bottled nutes and eventually go dwc

    Light isnt enough is it?

  2. So you started a plant in soil but want to transplant to dwc? Or you're just learning to grow in soil, and want to eventually learn dwc?

Either way, ditch the fluoros and go LED or HID. The fluorescents will still be good for cloning lights, but you'll want at least 30 actual watts of high quality LED lighting for each square foot of your grow area, more if you go HID.

Also, soil with only 10% aeration will be prone to overwatering, I'd be careful about that.

  3. overwatered.

i do that sometimes, just less hassle for me.

  4. Drowned looks like. Go hydro, roots set in water but you have to have plenty of air. A lot more easier.

  5. I have done 5 or 6 runs from clone to finish in dwc, just never from seed. This helps alot thank you . fyi the pic was taken 2 days after watering.

  6. you can add a little bit of hydrogen peroxide to the water to kick up the oxygen levels; they like that.

  7. The only kind ive used is 32% h202 brand......dont have any will any peroxide do?

  8. If you dilute say
    90mL RO water + 10mL 32% H2O2
then you now have 3.2% H2O2 which is fine to use, but maybe better to aim for ~1%

The formula to determine this kind of stuff is C1V1 = C2V2. Where C1 is the initial concentration, V1 is the initial volume, C2 final concentration, V2 is final volume.

ex. You have three known terms, V2=1000mL (ie. 1L) of desired C2=1% solution starting with C1=32% peroxide; what is V1 (the needed volume of 32% peroxide).
    It would be V1 = C2V2/C1 = {1% * 1000ml} / 32% = 1000/32 = 31.25 mL
therefore add 31.25 mL of 32% H2O@ to (1000-31.25) = 968.75 mL of RO water.

I hope that makes sense. I linked a page for you to get a better picture.

  9. Btw its 90% perlite only 10% soil.
Thanks man that helps out a lot. Dude I can't figure it out this is what it looks like today after drying out and moving closer to the light

  10. Exploding with leaf growth , thats it. Its been in a solo cup for over a month!

  11. I don't think your plant needs more light, cuz plants stretch when they need more light and that's not the symptom I see.

  12. Thank you for the help man i really appreciate it. Wonder if its genetic?

  13. Could it be that my media is 90% perlite and 10% soil, and no roots? How are they absorbing anything?

  14. I don't advise asking my daughter...
