I've just started growing and after 10 days everything is ok, apart from the first two leaves that appeared are turning slightly yellow. Is this normal? If not what is the problem and how can I remedy this? Thanks in advance Jason
Any pictures would help but if the first set of leaves are the rounded nonsurrated leaves they yellow and die off if its the next set of leaves that resemble the pot leaf with surrated edges if these are yellowing they might need a repot to something bigger Have you used any fertilizer??
Many thanks GB! Yeah, they're not the main leaves, its just me panicking (anyone would think I'm paranoid)! But, no I've not used any fertilizer yet! I've read somewhere that they shouldn't be fertilized until about 3 weeks old due to the fertilizer already in the soil. What do you reckon?
The first initial fert. regimine would start 2-3 weeks depending like you said if the soil already contained nutrients. The first should be 1/4 strength or less maybe 1- teaspoon to gallon water. After the plant has grown some more you can start 1/4 to 1/2 strength this feed every 10-14 days. Pefect feeding only the end most tips will show a little singe fromt the ferts this is called Greenhouse burn which means the plant is full of nutrients and you have attained a perfect feeding schedule, Peace GB
