Can a vinyl tube be used as a Downstem in a Bong?

    For the homemade ones I see people using pen tubes, but Im scared of plastic so can a tubing be used in place of that?

    Youll be fine. Just use a metal bowl

    Regardless though, the tubing still an option?

    Not a good option. vinyl has pretty low operating temps, so I wouldn't use that. Silicon would be better if you're trying to use tubing. I don't recommend any thing other than glass or wood though.
