Can’t sleep after smoking anymore

Discussion in 'Experienced Cannabis Enthusiasts' started by superrobbie10, Jan 4, 2020.

  1. Ever since 2 days after Christmas I have barely slept for the past week after smoking before bed, now it takes me almost 2 hrs to fall asleep and every morning I wake up at 3am. Also, about a week before Christmas I have been losing my appetite and only usually eat half of what I use to. For 3 months I’ve been smoking everyday 5-8 bowls, and I use to be able to fall asleep like a baby after smoking. Right now I have a 80% pcl tear and I have to keep my strength everyday by working out but I don’t think I can with the sleep I have been getting. Usually at night I take cbd, herbal tea, essential oils, and sometimes melatonin. If anyone can help me please do because I can’t handle this. I have cut down my smoking to 1-3 times a day and it hasn’t seemed to help because right now it’s 4:30 am

  3. Why do you smoke? Is it recreational or for medical reasons?? If it's effecting your sleep & you smoke just for fun you should think about quitting.

Weed isn't for everyone & if it's effecting your sleep it isn't worth the buzz.

  4. I only smoke indicas before bed but now it just doesn't seem to work I guess the only way to fix this is a t break. Another thing to mention is that the day my sleep problems started was the first day I ever smoked a moon rock but I don’t think that would effect a week of sleep.

  5. I have a medical card and I started using it for my insomnia, depression, and anxiety. I don’t think I could quit because before I started smoking I was always depressed.

  6. Man. What a bummer. Since just after Christmas you say, my goodness.I agree with@smokeout69. A tolerance break is in order.

  7. It clearly isn't helping with your insomnia anymore, there's others ways to treat/help depression dude other then weed:confused_2:

If it has to be marijuana you use for it why don't you try edibles? They hit differently & can also help with sleep:confused_2: they help me sleep & I'm in chronic pain 24/7:laughing:

  8. I have never really tried edibles for sleep mainly because the effects are usually weak for me but I will try tommorow, do you recommend any dosage like will a 10mg edible help me go to sleep or should I get a 500mg edible and try to pass out?

  9. Tbreak. I'm currently on one from CH, it comes with today's GMO weed. Hot n cold sweats are common, I've had a 100 degree fever since I've started three days ago.

Hoping it breaks by the end of the week. Atleast I'm not puking all day like last time!

  12. Start with 10mg then wait 1-2 hours before taking more.. it's very easy to over do it with edibles dude, from what I've seen on here most dispensarys will sell say a chocolate bar that's 100mg & each price will say a dosage on it so go for a higher dose but only eat 10mg or so then wait before having more.

If you ask someone at the dispensary they'll be able to explain in more detail ect

  13. Agreed.

Last sentence, still check back with us after talking to dispensary people, can't tell ya the level of sheer stupidity and dire misinformation I've come across whilst mingling with various workers as I shop.

  14. I’ve had to rotate my strains, all indica or indica dominant hybrid, every 2-3 bowls because of a tolerance issue. When I’m desperate I’ll smoke a bowl of either Purple Punch or Black Mamba.

Just my .02. Hope you get some sleep.

  15. All I smoke after 200 pm is indicas or indica leaning hybrids so I can sleep at night. I don’t drink caffeine after 1200 pm either.

  16. I think you need to lower the amount you smoke. I mean It agitates you too much

  17. Edible tolerance is different from smoking tolerance.
I use edibles for sleep, but sometimes smoke during the day.
The smoke doesn't work very well, but the edibles still do.
Dispensary edibles can be suspect, but fortunately it's pretty easy to make your own.

I'd guess an edible made with some herb you have on hand might work.

  19. Quit a month ago after smoking consistently/basically habitually for about 7 years. Sucks for a while, not even sure if I'm out the funk yet, but readjusting is real.
Knew I had to quit for a while now due to future opportunities and long-term mental health.

Gotta figure out how to readjust if you need to. Healthily focusing on the pressure of necessity helps. It'll be a real struggle fighting it or not having any personal solid reason to quit.

Still want to roll blunts every dam day, i dont think that goes away.
