OK, I'm in California and on Pacific Power, but I just got one heck of a deal! A few months ago, PacPow had a real deal among the junk info- they would pay for part of the price of a qualifying generator ($300 or more) if you filled out the right paperwork. I showed it to my eldest son and he got to researching the best buy of the ones they listed as acceptable. The generator he picked (a DuroMax XP4850EH, dual fuel) was just shy of $600 plus tax and arrived the beginning of September. Works fine and next blackout or evacuation, we will be ready. So the rebate check arrived today, and much to my joy it was for $592.23 which left basically the $43 for the taxes! So if you are in California and PacPow is your source of electricity, you might want to give them a call and see if you qualify! Also, I note the check is by Rocky Mt. Power/ Pacific Power, so folks in the Rockies might also be able to get this offer. Granny
Nice, I've never had a fuel generator, but considering a diesel one, just in case. I have several electric batteries, that can be charged AC DC and solar. They're so useful, especially black outs, camping, and other random things.
