Light- 320w LED Humidity-65-70% Temps-23C-25C degrees Nutes- Gaia Green line Still in veg Hey folks, So I believe this is a calcium deficiency. The last two feedings I added CalMag (2.5ml per gallon)/ molasses. Been too feeding with Gaia green line. Soil is 420 mix with lime. I thought it might be ph but when I water it is at 6.5 and just did a soil check and it’s ph is at 6.5. Last feed was 3 days ago. Also could have been watered a day before but I was out of town. Should I wait and see if things change? Seems like the last two days the deficiency continues. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
Have a question but bumping in the process. What makes you think Cal def? What’s up with the leaf curl?
The leaf curl I think is because of underwatering. I should have watered it about a day and a half ago- the pot when lifted felt like air. The spots on the leaf are cal def. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
Here is how I like to explain overwatering vs underwatering appearance. Stick your arm straight out, horizontal, palm facing down. Now let your whole arm go limp. It will flop to your side. Your arm looks like a leaf does when underwatered. Stick your arm straight out once again, horizontal, palm facing down. This time, keep your shoulder pretty stiff. FLEX! All the muscles in your arm, flex them like you mean it! Now gradually bend your elbow inwards angling your forearm downwards, and bend your wrists a little bit inwards. Bicep will be nearly horizontal, hand will be nearly vertical. Face will be red from all that flexing! This is the plant's overwatering experience. Underwatering results in loss of turgor (water pressure in the plant), while overwatering results in so much water pressure that the leaves are forced in to that awkward curled under position. Overwatered leaves will feel thick and firm, almost hard to bend, and maybe even a little rubbery. Underwatered will feel almost like tissue paper, thin and floppy. I have even made it to The Bonus Round of Fail (maybe more than once... or twice), where I overwatered, leaves curled so bad that by the time the media was 100% dry, the leaves were still in that curled under position.
Still getting yellow leaves every morning. I’m one week in flower and that is when this all started happening. I check Ph of soil with Holdall soil testing kit and it is at 6.5. Temps at 23 and humidity at 55% I fixed the calcium def but every dang morning I’m finding yellow leaves. I was thinking root bound but it is in a 10 gal fabric pot. I was wanting to defoliate today but don’t want to put the plant under more stress. I watered it yesterday as the pot was bone dry and I could literally pick it up with one hand lol this has me stumped. When I water It is at 6.5ph, temp is 22, and in 4gal of water I have about 7ml of calmag. I too dressed two weeks ago with Gaia Green. The soil is Greenworld 420 with lime mixed in. Anyone can help me that would be great. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
Is having some yellow leaves normal? This is only my second grow. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
Anyone? I added Epsom salts as it looked like mag def. ph going on is 6.5 and soil test has it at 6.5 I don’t know wth is wrong. Anyone? Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
I just checked runoff and it is at 864ppm If I don’t nip this soon I will loose the grow I think. I’m on week four now - this won’t last 5 more weeks. I just watered again with 1tsp Epsom salt, some liquid calcium, and some biothrive bloom from general Org. Here is hoping. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
When I said watered again I meant it was my second water can lol they are dropping because The soil was just hitting bone dryness lol Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
I primarily grow in coco, but here is what I would be thinking if that was in my tent: FUUUCCCKKKKKKK Okay, beyond that, here is what I would be thinking: Purple petioles make me think possible phos deficiency in play. Leaves yellowing the bottom up suggest N deficiency too. Hmm, thats 2 issues. Wait, N deficiency but what looks like recently burned tips? Hmm... this is getting weirder. Spots and upper leaf anti-canoe and curl strongly suggest Calcium deficiency. Interveinal yellowing indicates at least one more deficiency is running too. Well crap, thats a few issues. I would start to looking at higher level causes that would result in multiple apparent deficiencies. Incorrect pH can cause it, but your 6.5 sounds good. The first pics you posted, the plants look moderately to severely overwatered. Can't say for 100% that is the root cause of the plants issues, but it definitely *can* cause plants to not be able to take up nutrients, resulting in a any number of deficiencies. If that is the cause, being in flower already, you will definitely lose some weight on the final yield, but maybe not any potency if you can get it sorted out quickly enough.
Thanks for your reply! My PH is fine. When I checked PPM it was at 400 lol I didn’t too dress with Gaia Green this time as I need immediate nute intro. I used my liquid nutes and fed at 800ppm’s and will adjust when I see what the runoff was. Run off was at 1200 so I thought I would wait and see till next watering if that does the trick. I water when the pot is essentially light and I can’t feel wet soil a couple of inches in the top layer. Maybe I’ll wait one extra day if I think it is dry and that maybe right lol all in all I will see what happens. It is a bit disappointing but I also think size is also an issue. She takes up the entire tent and the main stem is huge so it is hard for me to gage when to water. Thanks again! Really appreciate your reply. Will keep you updated.
