Hey everyone I'm on my 4th growing week 5 flower I have used the same nutrients and same brand of soil everytime without any problems at all the last few grows. I gave nutrients 2 feeds ago and noticed I was getting a slight nute burn on tips, so I gave them some plain ph water for the next feed and added 1 tsp of molasses per gallon to the plain water. About 2 days later I started noticing orange spots and yellow spots appearing on the upper fan leaves mainly around the main colas. I tried doing a light flush with 6.5ph water and checked the runoff with my ph drop test and the run off PH on all 4 plants came out around 4.0 to 5.0 red and orange. With those numbers I am guessing this is some sort of nutrient lockout from low ph causing what appears to be this calcium deficiency. They were looking perfect before I added that molasses in the plain water feeding. My question is am I right about what is going on here and how can I fix this problem fast? As of now it has only been 3 days since the molasses went in and I have slowly watched it get worse over night. I pushed the molasses in the water after mixing to around 6.5 too. Soil: potting soil plain organic peat moss and sphagnum earth castings. Nutrients: Hollands secret personal grow box. Micro, Grow, Bloom, calnesium, royal gold, super-b, carbo blast, prop o gator, bud start, ton o bud, bud boom. The nutrients balance to ph 6.5 when I mix up a batch Temp and rh: day time temps are around 22 to 26° C with a humidity of 45% to 60%. Airflow: Ac infinity 6 inch fan and phresh carbon filter pulling heat out of the tent and an oscillating fan over the top of the canopy and lower fan blowing under the canopy. Lights: 330 actual watts from a 450w led and 300w both viparspectra.
Molasses lowers ph but I use I've used it in my first grow now and last 4 weeks I never even checked my ph plants look great still Sent from my SM-G965U using Grasscity Forum mobile app
If your pH is that low,its prob lockout. I made a mix once that consisted of peatmoss, coco coir, and promix. The peat and the promix( which is peat also) tend to have a more acidic pH. Even though the promix was amended with lime to help maintain a higher pH,the unammended peat was driving my pH down like crazy. I pretty much had to water my whole grow with 6.8pH water to get where I needed to be. Also the more peat breaks down over time, the acidity increases, in my experience. Now I always add a bit of lime to my soil mixes but I also grow soil style(pH 6.3-6.8). I would definitely get that pH back up. Try watering with a higher pH water the next couple waterings. Best not to raise it dramatically.
Ya it's way too late now lol noone helped at all, was looking for solid awnser or solution fast. Those plants were chopped the 21st of last month I still have the bottom halves going and I corrected the ph by sprinkling a bunch of baking soda on the top soil and watering and it corrected each plant almost instantly as flushing wasnt doing fuck all for the Ph. Happened to my second set of plants right around the same time week 6 flower too. Just threw away 5 50 litres bags of this soil because its trash and smelled moldy right from the bag. I told someone to pick me up a certain brand and they brought 8 bags of this crap. I went and bought foxfarms HF for mothers and 4 bags of coco I'm sure I wont have this problem again. I asked for the brand "Premier" because I had great success not a single problem the whole grow with the nutes I use and they brought me back "Altwin Premium" and decided to just use it.... big mistake I guess
Ok all good lol this is the soil I dont reccomend anyone getting, it looks decent enough all organic too but I found out it's mostly peat when all my problems hit and I had no amendments just bottled nutes. I still got some decent buds but this stuff definitely hurt yield and overall plant health in flower.
Nice that roots organic looks like some good stuff at least the 707 one I just read up on what's the other part of your mix Ff ocean forest? I think my next run will do a lot better changing the medium again last time I grew 2 6 oz plants that were so healthy even flushing for 2 weeks they were still pure green and purple with premier potting soil and future harvest hollands secret nute box. Just waiting to harvest my second run of plants then starting fresh.
Looks good what strain? Moved all the plants in my 2x4 to 4x4 I have a few starting to get a few amber trichs also on week 8
Nice I want to try gsc and ya my other plants barely had any amber by the end of week 9 just mostly cloudy cut the tops and the bottoms took 11 weeks to get any amber.
