C02, How Long To Use in Flowering

Discussion in 'Advanced Growing Techniques' started by dungeongangsta, Dec 27, 2008.

  1. Hi i was wanting to know, dose anyone know, if i need to shut my carbon doixide off in the last 2 weeks of flowering? i herd carbon doixide can delay ripening, is this true?

  2. Not true. Leave it on through flowering.

  3. Absolutely. The chemical process that takes place when the buds form and ripen uses CO2 to complete itself. Shutting off the CO2 would make this take longer... I have heard similar claims though, that you shouldn't have it on during flowering at all or not in the last 2,3 weeks. Keep it on though, it helps.

I CO2 through bloom until harvest. If you have a larger bloom room, remember to cycle a fan for a short period after the valve shuts off. CO2 is heavy and a small fan will help get it off the floor after a short delay in the cycle. In my case, Growtronix waits 20 minutes after the CO2 valve shuts off, starts the low speed floor fans, waits, stops the fan, waits, then back to normal fan cycle in 1 hour.
    CO2 / Lights are ON
