Perhaps the concept here needs to be explained to our current president - it seems his perspective is that we were all created by the same "God" (his words). I sense that he views the press and the people who challenge him unworthy of these rights to free speech and is actively directing efforts to impinge upon them.

Take it up with your government, I suggest. The ICCPR states there are "special duties and responsibilities" that go along with the freedom to speak one's mind. Limitations to freedom of speech relate to libel, slander, obscenity, porn, sedition, incitement, fighting words, classified info, copyright violations, trade secrets, NDAs, right to privacy, right to be forgotten, and public security.
