Butter Bottom looks weird

  1. Hello,

    I just made cannabutter for the first time. I used around 7g of high quality weed and around 120 g of butter.
    I did all the steps as i found them on the internet. Decarb,boil water,add the trimmed weed,simmer for 3 hours, strained it and let it cool. When i got it out of the fridge i threw all the water away and the bottom part of the butter looks weird, more white than the whole butter, so i scrapped it with a knife. Maybe it is water that ended up being one with the butter?

  3. I read somewhere that it might be water that didnt separated from the butter and it might get mold in it. Thats my only concern, if its safe to consume it. I ll also post a picture when i get back home.
     
  4. I believe that is the milk solids in your butter. It's certainly safe to eat. Be sure you refrigerate or freeze any left over butter.

    Cannabinoids are NOT water soluble. That whole water-=butter recipe needs to be deleted from the internet.
    If you have water in contact with the trichome it's not going to be dissolved by the oil. Simple concept.
    Butter is the worst solvent as it's 15% water to start with at least in the USA it is.

    Coconut oil is the top recommended oil as it's fastest to enter the Liver where the Magic happens.
    Twice as fast as any other cooking oil.
    Lecithin is used to promote liposomal encapsulation. Make better use of less material.

    Decarb = 240 F for 40 minutes ( pea sized nuggets in the oven uncovered )

    5 grams Kief, Hash, Powdered buds
    1 tablespoon Coconut oil
    1/2 teaspoon Lecithin
    Heat 220 F for 20 minutes
    Freeze
    Heat 220 F for 20 minutes

    Done.

    About 8 years and 40,000 capsules later. Still the best, strongest, longest lasting "stone" recipe.
    Mine is done with dry ice kief but it's the same exact recipe for any grade of cannabis. From buds to concentrates.
