You might be able to get a water adapter. Something like this. There are others that aren't like a bong.

vape pens are horrible harsh ... use the lowest heat setting on your pen if it has that option , most pens are set up to vape watery like nic juice not oils like cannabis oil
i'm using a vaporizer cartridge of med grade and i get horrible burn throat also. i assumed it was the chemicals they use in it as i also have a terrible chemical taste sometimes. the med store just says to take fewer and less deep hits...i gargle with warm salt water but that doesnt seem to help much. for live rosin, resin anything over 2.4 V is going to burn it ... vape pens made for nicotine start at 3.4 V and go up to 4.8 V . something like a kodo pro gets down to 1.8V and upwards form there Distillates vape at a higher temp than live resin, rosin
