Burns from lights being too close?

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by weedgrowerro, Nov 27, 2022.

  1. hi, i let my light 30 cm above the top of the plant, and it got burnt

i have a 250W hps, 35W fan blowing on the light and plant and I m growing a white widow autoflower

the plant is 16 days old and i started nuts 2 days ago (0.5mL/L biobizz bio grow in 550mL water)

the temperature and humidity(near the plant, same height) is 27.6°C and 58%

what s the problem? what can i do? what is the optimal height? will it recover?

PS I wasn't home for 24h so I could not prevent this from happening

  2. It does look like heat stress. First thing I'd do is back the light off. 18" - 24” and see if that helps. I dunno about hps but I'd back it off and see what that does. Also make sure you have good ventilation.

  3. Thats too close for an hps.

Put the back of you hand where the top of your plant is. If it's too hot for your hand it's too hot for the plant.

  4. If it is light burn the new leaves wll not be affected and you will be fine.

  5. Watering the leaves . Great . With the lights close not so great . Burn them for sure depending what light your under
