Maybe I missed it while I was younger, but I don't remember bullying being in the news quite so much as it is today. I'm forced to wonder, "Why now?" This isn't a new thing. I had to deal with bullies in school too. Maybe it's because of the Internet. It's easier and faster to spread awareness. Or maybe it's because of social sites like Facebook. So I'll ask you, reader, what do you think is going on with bullies? Are there more now? Are they just more vicious? And what experiences have you had with bullies, or as one? I'm not trying to stir raw emotions or incite any sort of hostilities. I just want to shed some light on this subject. I'll start off by telling one tale of bullying from my past. I was in the seventh grade. At a new school. In a new state, Georgia. I was a big kid. Not grossly overweight, but certainly not thin. I was, and still am, a loner type. I had made a couple friends before school started, but not enough to make me anything other than "the new kid". The bullying started almost as soon as school had. First it was kids on the bus tossing stuff at me. I did as I was told and let it slide. Then they got bolder and started flicking my ears. Still I let it go. Then one day it escalated very quickly. At recess I was hanging out by the class doors, as neither of my friends were around that day. When I was struck in the back of my head and blacked out. When I came to I was on the ground under a very large kid, honestly I think he was held back a couple years, fending off punches. After it finally got broken up I noticed a large rock on the ground near me and some blood from my now bleeding head. All that came of the attack was a couple days suspension for both of us. My mom complained and got it shortened for me, but of course the bullying continued... So now I turn the forum over to you. I'll post more stories later, but I want to see some other's stories first.
wow... thats harsh. a bully experience i had was. I was a freshman in high school, and we just got out of the cafeteria from eating lunch. And you know that whole thing about juniors/seniors or maybe even some douche bag sophomores, who pick on the freshmen. Well that day was the day.... there were tons of poeple in the hallway waiting for the bell to ring. and when i say tons, i mean someone is at least 2ft by you at all times. So i was standing there talking with my friends, and we hear alittle commotion going on. When we look over we see a fairly big circle pit, kinda like at those mosh concerts.... except the pit was empty and only had one person smack dab in the middle of that circle. The kid just runs out of the circle. So next we see some fairly large dude come walking toward me (my future dealing/friend) , he picked me up and man handled me... im guessing he picked me because i was so small. I really didn't try and get away i was more dumbfounded by what was happening. and put me in the middle of the circle.... ALL EYES ON ME, and i was just standing there awkwardly looking around at all the poeple around me. I begin to walk out of the circle until someone full on pushes me... then it started, everybody on the outside of the circle started pushing me until i fell on my ass and they just kept going at it. And after about 10 secs of me getting push and shoved around, the bell finally rings, and everyone scatters. It was a really awkward and embarrassing, and almost traumatic experience for me... i almost cried lol. but thankfully nobody brought it up in the future!
In 6th grade a kid bigger than me would mess with me sometimes. Pick me up by my belt, shit like that. One day he took my mountain dew from my locker. Fed up, I told him to give it back, he said no. I don't know how but I flipped him and slammed him into the ground and picked up the mountain dew and walked off. He never fucked with me again.
Shortly after the last story I posted happened I had another bully mess with me. This guy was smaller than me, and a lot smaller than the first bully. He was actually the "ring leader" of a group of kids that messed with me on the bus. We were at an assembly and all seated in the stands watching and listening to our grades' teachers. When this kid starts flicking my ears and laughing with his friends and whispering behind me that "big guy" was going to fuck me up when he gets back to school. Again I let it slide, because if I got in another fight I was sure to get suspended for a while. But after taking this abuse for most of the assembly I finally got fed up enough to stand up and tell on the kid. All I remember doing was stand up raising my left hand, but I was suddenly on top of the kid with my hands around his neck and his face turning purple. I guess what had happened was while standing up I actually swung around and hit him with a left hook then pulled him down to my row of seats and jumped on him. Pinned his arms under my knees and locked in on his throat. After coming back to full awareness I let go of his neck but stayed on him because he was threatening me, between coughs and gasps for breath. I ended up suspended and the bully got off free. The bullying did stop from that group of kids though. Not even the big kid messed with me anymore. Sadly it seems that bullies only respond to violence...
I had a bully in middleschool. This real fat motherfucker that was atleast 250/300 pounds lol... He used to push me and shit and after a while him and his friend started throwing rocks at me in the mornings. I had recently seen the matrix so i kinda just stood there dodging rocks. I really dont remember how but by the middle of the year i was friends with the kid lol.
I had a guy when I was in 6th grade that fucked with me. One day he came up to me when I was in front of my friends and he like talked some shit, and then smacked me in the head. I was just like... "ok?" And walked away. My mom was also about 5 seconds from seeing him do it. If she did see, he would have been expelled for sure. But I mean... I took it with a grain of salt. Haven't been bullied since. I'm a senior in high school now. I'm 6'1" so a lot of people aren't as big as me and didn't fuck with me. I think kids are just bigger pussies now. They are so sheltered that when they get bullied, they kill themselves and stupid shit like that. Getting bullied at some point in your life used to be the norm at some point in a kids life, and kids just accepted it. Now kids are brought up just being mentally weak. So when shit happens, they shoot up schools, file lawsuits, kill themselves, make death threats. I think our kids are being taught to be mentally fucked up. Just my $0.02
when i was 10 or 11 there was a guy bulying me off fat pussy motherfucker i threw his ass on the ground though i weighted 3 times less than him , choked hbim until he started saying please please and crying and his face turning all kinds of colors. Teh person who saw it had me waiting near the door outside. guess what this bitch tells his friend go throw some little rocks at him and tell them its from me. So i waited till he was closer and threw a rock ten times bigger then the ones they were throwing and hit him in the lip hahaha and split it oppen andh e was bleeing and shit. never fucked with me afterwards. Second was when i was 15 or 16 and there was this fat smelly self made piece of shit saying shit bout my family i was high on cocaien and turn into a full blown pyschopath everytime i dot that and i just lost it and was running around the boarding school with a kinfe decided to knife the hell out of him folowed by my friend paranoiang the bitch locked himself in his room i started kciking his door almost broke it off before i had 4 friend making me sit and stop. He finally got expelleed and asked me for a smoke saing im expleed blablabla i had 3 smokes in my pack i got them out rubbed them all over my dickj and put smashed them on his face LOL. this was on 4 20 too im pacific when stoned. people tend to think i wont do shit cuz i take a few tiems nbefore re3acting but when i do then its sorry osrry sory

last time i guess anythin related to "bullyin" occured, everyone was a little bitch and just talked shit so i was always just a little wittier and trashed em back. eventually those kids were all stoners that i occasionally burned with. were never so interesting to burn with though. i remember in camp though, i was like 11 with my friend and this dude a year or two up is just bein a dousche and throwin pebbles at us so i saw him later when with my friends and i just said something dumb like "hey, it's this jackass". so the kid runs at me and just grabs my neck. i didn't really expect it but i just hit him over the back and kicked him or something and he fell down. kids in his bunk actually applauded me since no one really liked him. when the counselors took us to the head director, he just cried and said no one liked him blah blah. bullies are just pathetic..

I haven't been bullied since I was like 7 or 8. Last time I remember was when I was in YMCA summer camp like I was every summer when I was a kid. I had gotten my ear pierced at some point that summer and of course there were 2 kids who thought I was "gay". Anyway, they harassed me about it probably the whole week and on a walk one afternoon they were really getting into the insults; than out of fricken nowhere, it must have just been some animal instinct or something, I grabbed the one kid by the throat and kicked the other guy in the stomach...They didnt fuck with me anymore lol...
I was never the most popular kid or looked the best in school but I never had to deal with bullies. I never went out of my way to bully others either. I guess the main reason I never got bullied was because I was always bigger than 95% of my classmates. When I graduated high school I was 6'4" and over 300 pounds so no one fucked with me even though I was I gentle giant.

Just my $0.02[/quote] I agree with you, to an extent. Kids do seem a bit over sheltered. I remember living with my grandparents for a year when I was very young. I went to my grandpa and told him I was being bullied. He told me to stand up for myself and fight him. It worked, but it also made me a bully until around third grade. But I also feel that kids have a lot more power to harm each other now. Not physically but mentally. When I was a kid there was no Internet as we know it now. Not every house had a computer. When you got home you were safe, relatively. Sure the bullies could follow you home, but they couldn't then get on the computer and keep the harassment coming at you. Like someone else said, bullies are just insecure and dealing with it by hurting others. That's why retaliation seems to stop them. Before this would just amount to fighting, but with different bullying tactics there should be new ways to combat them. Unfortunately this is a very hard thing to do, and too many seem to turn to suicide or mass murder. I can't think of how to deal with cyber bullying myself. Hell if my hypothetical kids got cyber bullied I would probably figure out a way to punish the bully without getting myself in trouble. Maybe take it old school and hang them by their underpants on the school yard. Hmmm even that sounds a little too sketchy. I'm at a loss...
i think the reason its in the news so much now is because our country has become one giant pussy. Back in the day if you got bullied your parents would probably have told you to go beat up your bully, now its all going through school administration and even the cops. Basically our country needs to stop trying to be politically correct pussies and go back to our roots, as bad asses
