bulk organic sources

Discussion in 'Growing Organic Marijuana' started by Boggieman, Mar 10, 2013.

  1. I'm looking for quality sources of ammendments in bulk, 50+ pound bags of kelp meal, crab shell meal, mineral rock, greensand ect. I grow outdoors and mix large amounts of soil each year. I live in the US by the great lakes if that helps. All help is appreciated.

  2. My first suggestion would be your local elevator. I go to washington elevator, it is also in the great lakes region.

  3. Depends on where you live Boggieman. In the northeast I use Fedco Organic Growers Supply in Waterville, Maine area.

Organic Growers Supply cover crops, soil amendments & gardening supplies

In the northwest I've heard good things about Concentrates organic supply house which, if I remember correctly is in Portland, Oregon.

Concentrates, Inc. | Organic agricultural specialists since 1938

You will also want to look at farm/feed type stores for bulk alfalfa meal, etc. here is a nice link to feed (cattle/equestrian) stores by state -

PoloCenter.com - Directory of Horse and Livestock Feed Stores and Dealers indexed by State and City + County - United States

In the California area this place looks really nice! (Palo Alto)

Recommended Soil Amendments :: Common Ground Organic Garden Supply and Education Center

In Vermont I've used these folks several times for bulk soil amendments. They seem to really dig their #50 pound sacks of everything - North Country Organics

North Country Organics | Products | Natural Fertilizers

I am told that these folks carry bulk worm castings at $100 a yard

    Lyngso Garden Materials Product Group

Another bulk organic supplier in CA - Peaceful Valley

    Lyngso Garden Materials Product Group

Bulk organic supplier in Virginia - 7 Springs Farm

    7 Springs Farm Catalog

Bulk kelp meal (Ascophylum Nodosum) manufactured by Acadian Seaplants and other amendments - Fertrell with dealers all over

FERTRELL - North Atlantic Kelp Meal

And it goes on and on and on...

    Hope that helped.

  4. Check my signature out, I have posted links to about 15 different online stores that I found to be cheap and effective. I just went through this ordeal, these were the cheapest I could find for shipping and having bulk inventory.

  5. Thanks guys I really appreciate the help, in located in northern Indiana if that helps, I'm willing to travel too a nearby location or order online as I'm sure I will have top with some products.

  6. Whatever you do, stay out of Worms Way grow store in Indiana. There are several of these stores in other states, too. There were cases where this store gave up names and addresses of its customers who were then watched and in some cases busted.

The police seized Cook’s trash because his name was on a list of customers who had purchased products from Worm’s Way, a garden supply company. The presence of Cook’s name on that customer list did not give police “articulable individualized grounds,” State v. Litchfield, 849 N.E.2d 170, 173 (Ind. Ct. App. 2006) (“Litchfield II”), for suspecting Cook of illegal activity. We accordingly affirm the grant of Cook’s motion to suppress.1
    FACTS
In recent years the federal Drug Enforcement Agency (“DEA”) has subpoenaed records from shipping companies to obtain information about customers of businesses selling equipment that might be used for growing marijuana. One of those businesses is Worm’s Way. Cook received a package from Worm’s Way in February of 2004 and the DEA gave Cook’s address to the Indiana State Police.

The Litchfields’ address in rural Marshall County was included on the list because Worm’s Way had sent them three shipments via UPS. Without any prior surveillance of the Litchfield property, and based only on evidence that the Litchfields had received Worm’s Way shipments, ISP Troopers Daniel Ringer and Chad Larsh went to the Litchfields’ address on July 5, 2002, and July 22, 2002. There, they found trash barrels in the same general area where the collection service normally picked up the trash and where the containers were routinely kept. The barrels were located on the Litchfields’ property approximately fifteen to twenty-five feet from the edge of the pavement and approximately 175 feet from the nearest corner of the Litchfields’ house.
On both occasions, the troopers entered onto the property and removed several garbage bags. A search of the Litchfields’ trash revealed plant stems, seeds, and leaves that tested positive for marijuana. The bags seized on July 22 also contained burnt rolling papers and hemp rolling paper packaging. Based on this evidence, Trooper Ringer prepared and obtained a warrant to search the Litchfields’ home. The ISP executed the warrant on July 24, and discovered fifty-one marijuana plants growing on the back deck of the Litchfields’ home.
