Hey, Ive just got a quick question to ask those more experinced growers out there which is i normally use a hps bulb for the vegetative stage and for flowering, if i changed to a metal- halide bulb for veg and hps for flower will this help the yeild outcome? Thanks for any info!
def yes. vegging with a MH will give you much more compact growth and tightly spaced nodes. not to say you won't have good results with HPS alone because you can. also the light temp (known as kelvin) of a MH bulb will be about 6500k and the temp of an HPS is about 2700k. 6500k light reproduces the color of the light during spring and early to mid summer, when mj is vegging. 2700k light reproduces the suns light during late summer and fall when the sun is further away then during spring. so in the end, you can use either K for either stage but if you mimic nature you're yeild will improve. hope i made sense and good luck.
