Building up my compost material

  1. Trying to make as much compost as possible for my Cannabis, peppers and tomatoes this season in containers. I hope I have enough but if I mix the soil as 1/3 compost, 1/3 peat moss and 1/3 Perlite I may have enough.

It's actually 1/3 aeration, 1/3 canadian sphagnum peat moss (preferably.... it's not the same as peat moss).... and 1/3 "humus."  The humus component is generally a blend of compost and EWC.  So if you are short on compost at all.... it would absolutely be fine (if not beneficial) to utilize EWC to supply the remainder.

  3. Thanks Gandalf. I did use Canadian Sphagnum last season on my peppers I believe. I only have a five gallon bucket full of EWC so that won't go far.
I am growing Cannabis, peppers and tomatoes in containers this season so I have eight 17 gallon containers, ten 10 gallon grow bags, five 5 gallon Lowes buckets with drain holes and multiple 5 gallon nursery pots I may or may not use.
I need to do some math to see what I have for compost to see if I am going to be able to cover it all.
