building a system for 7ft ceiling?

  1. trying to build a top feed system for hydroponics.... 32 plants 4 under each light all in 5 gallon buckets... The trivial question is how do i get the water back from the buckets into the resiovoir? I CANT USE tables because of a height issue. the farthest the buckets can be off the ground is prob 9 inches.

  2. inline pump... like a water pump.. but this uses alot of pressure... so it can blow lines if you don't know what your doing

I actually was trying to figure this exact same thing... this is going to sound stupid but ill try to explain how to do it...

the water starts in the res.. and has a single line that goes bucket to bucket... and it ends up in the last bucket... like a snake... once the last bucket connects to the res you make a L shape inside the res and run a air line down the vertical part of the L... this actually creates a vacuum for the previous bucket... and so on... It takes four hours to exchange eight buckets... its pretty neat to watch...

this way you don't have tons of pressure running threw your lines... and the water actually mixes with only air pressure... and its not alot....

if you were going to hook up lots of buckets.. i'd put a max of eight in a row... and connect them back to the res... one large pump could have like eight air lines off it.. constantly mixing your solution....

super cool idea.. others will argue their system or idea will be better.... but this is cheap and it mixes and adds oxygen to your solution and does this all on very low pressure

  3. sorry that last picture is so large.. but the piece at the top is an example of how to create the bubbler ... thats in a kit... but you can see how far the air line has to go down... all the way to the base of the L that i described...

totally cool to watch... i actually didn't think it would work, but it does
