So I came up with the inspiration of building a glass bong with a small glass bong shaped vase or a glass coke bottle. I would drill the downstem hole with a diamond drillbit and buy a glass diffuser downstem and a glass snapper bowl (decided to try slide instead of shotgun for once). I already have an acrylic bong but I was hoping this would be a cheaper way to get a better quality toke. I would probably buy an after market precooler later on if possible.

Honestly with all the time and effort your putting into making one you could just buy a nice $50 glass one. Not trying to be an ass but your idea has bad idea written all over it. If your really committed to creating your own piece then draw up a design and go to a glass creator and tell them you would like to make a tobacco water pipe. You can get a hand crafted one of a kind piece of art that is high quality 9mm think glass for cheap personalized for your self
If you can drill a hole successfully, then the bong should work out. Problem is both the coke bottle and the vase are made with cheap and soft glass, making them much more difficult to work with. Some tips: use a high rpm drill (ideally dremel fast, like 5-10k+) and use a lubricant (water, or something synthetic like wd40)
I do agree with you here, but I have a max of 60 bucks to work with, and I doubt I can get a custom bong for a price below that
It'll work but like the other poster mentioned you need a high rpm dremel and keep it constantly wet. be careful of glass dust.
