Venting into my house ducting was actually what I wanted to do to begin with but I was told that can mess with your furnace something about the back pressure, I would love to get some solar panels lol not just for the grow but that isn't really a priority money wise for me at the moment
Looks like you've got it dialed in on point! I'll be setting up a flood and drain system asa I complete my build
I've done them all... Right now I'm running a SCROG in 5gal buckets setting in 3x3 trays, buckets filled with custom soilless mix, and top feeding it with a drip system which runs about 5gal of nutrient through them within the 15 minutes on time...
Good deal man! I have the same lights lol they will make easy for getting the lights higher come the time over the xxxl hoods with the flood table.,, This isn't my set up but a good buddies that I'll be doing the same set up only with 1 4x4 to start
Let's Build a Water Cooling System I love them!! I have a well here where I live and I'm doing a drain to waste cooling system.. So I can cool 4,600w chamber using a 1,200w well pump... HUGE savings on cooling the chamber..
Nice!! I've seen them poking around, never pulled the trigger on trying them out though and don't know anyone that has used them so I was curious
Well with energy cost climbing, most people pay $0.07 per gallon on city water which ends up to be cheaper then running A/C to cool the chamber... You can also put a blower behind an Icebox and get a mini A/C in a sealed tent.. And then each Icebox costs maybe $25 to make so the cost of water cooling over electric cooling made sense.
I have an Icebox past each light and have run 8 lights off 1 blower... The output temp of the blower is in the mid 60s and I use a Hydro Innovations Blower Speed Control. That speed controller controls blower speed according to chamber temp.. I also have an electric water control valve on the main PVC water line which is controlled by a Environment Controller... So if the room reaches temp (84*F I'm using Co2), the chamber controller shuts off the water to the Iceboxes, and when the chamber hits 86*F, the chamber controller turns the water back on by triggering the water valve.. here is my control panel...
Sounds like a pretty interesting concept have you ever thought of geting a water chiller and just recycling the water? It seems like it would pay for itself rather quickly, we use water chillers to work to keep the molds we set at a certain temperature
Well you could do a chiller, but I'd need at least a 24,000 BTU chiller... But yes you could do that A/C to Chiller mod on a 24,000 BTU window A/C unit. You'd want to change the evaporator so it's above the res encased in the sheet metal, with the inlet on one side, and the other side would be the dump into the reservoir that way you make sure the returning water runs fully across the A/C's evaporator getting the most out of the A/C... But yes can be done... I'm on a well, so it only cost me running my well pump which is about 1,200w.. So I could run maybe 14 to 16 lights before I'd need to upgrade the size of the pump..
Ahhh that's right I forgot you mentioned you were on a well lol I was thinking man that's gotta be killing the pocket on a water bill lol, but no I didn't mean ac unit I meant a actual water chiller that the water recirculates through
Yeah.. If I got a 1hp ChillKing HydroFarm: 1 HP ChillKing Chiller [hf-HSCK1] - Reservoir Heaters & Chillers - Pumps, Irrigation & Watering Supplies - Gardening & Hydroponics Store - Horticulture Source that with a 55gal drum of water would work perfect...
