  1. i have been growing my first plant in my back yard for about 3 months now and it is just now starting to show that its a female and is starting to bud however i have been having problems with all kinds of bugs on my plant :mad:i have seen a catapillar on it once and other small insects there has been half leaves missing and leaves with holes all in them..... i fear that once that plant starts producing bud many insects will eat the fuck out of it:( sooooo i was wondering if there were any home made bug killers i could make to get rid of them that arnt expensive that wouldnt be bad if they got on the buds a little bit????

  2. Hey I'm new to growing and recently got some clones that had spider mites on them (grrrrr!).

For home made solution / foliar spray use 1 part dish soap to 100 parts water

Other alternatives would be using neem oil with water as a feed or using it as a foliar spray.

Organocide 3-in-1 is also safe to use as well and I picked up a bottle for $10 out the door at my local grow shop.

Haven't seen any mites yet. Spray as needed every 2-3 days and you should be ok.

Also, another thing to think about is insects developing immunity to a certain spray. I don't know about your situation but with my mites I was reading it was better to alternate to avoid some super bugs that are immune to your method.

Note that I am a newbie so take the advice with a grain of salt. I am speaking from the research I have done and my experience the last couple weeks.

Also, do not spray the neem oil or the dish soap solution during the day. Early morning or in the evening would be best. The organocide I've sprayed lights on and haven't had any issues, although I did raise the light a few inches when I did.

    Good luck!

  3. I had the same issue i just moved my plants from my garden to my terrace and guess what no more bugs

Just a little tip to add to this thread, spray for pests at night. That's when the pests come out AND when the plants pores are closed, so they won't absorb the pesticides.

Do foliar sprays for feeding in the morning when the plants pores are open and it will absorb more of what you offer.

As far as pests, you can plant cloves of garlic around your grow and spray with a garlic and chili spray. Personally I use neem oil mixed with BT, and I just tried insecticidal soap for the first time.

If you can only afford one product I would get some BT. I use the safer caterpillar killer brand.
