Bug Resistant Strains

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by lilmink, Jul 4, 2020.

  1. I have a pretty severe aphid problem. No matter what I do they do not go away. I have a Grease Monkey strain that is completely resistant to pests and will grow will no issue with them in the soil. Any recommendations on other strains with such resistance to pests?

I use Neem, Insecticidal soap, Axamax, Marin 75 and Bontanigard 22wp and nothing will keep them away other then only growing Grease Monkey

  2. Thought about predatory mites?
    Assassin bugs?
    Ladybug Larvae, that kinda thing?

  3. I have, I don't think it's a good idea indoors.

  4. Why?
They eat. Then they either die, or piss of someplace else.
Unless you make them an environment/food.

  5. You actually recommend it indoors?

  6. I can't see a reason not to.

  7. I will look into this further. Thank you

  8. IMO: stick with just one bug killer, as often making a 'martini' makes just one weak mix

I'd take the plants outdoors and spray them like mad with water

even if you have to wrap the pot in a plastic bag, and blast them bugs off

leave in the sun/wind to dry

    understand aphids are born pregnant,

and just like human lice go into action the moment they are born

once dry I'd apply the neem oil 2x times per day until clear,

then regular prevention of a blast per week

neem oil is organic and systemic,

its vital you have a plan with these critters and work fast

    good luck
