TLDR: does anyone have any good budget friendly nutrient recommendations? Or have any input on whether or not it would be more cost effective to go with some sort of a living soil or organic? (Outdoor, probably in 10 gal pots, maybe straight in the ground but I have clay soil here that doesn’t like to cooperate) last year I used dyna gro which I might just go with again after seeing the prices on fox farms and other popular brands since I probably used at least 5 or 6 gallons last year which would be pretty expensive with the other brands.. although I’m going with a smaller scale grow this year. whatever I choose it’d be preferable to have a pretty generic npk ratio since I’m growing a bunch of different strains and I feel like if I find something needing a little more of one I could probably adjust it more easily than if I went with something like a live soil or organic which I’ve never attempted before. Just curious if anyone has used anything that I can get a few gallons of without selling my soul. Otherwise I don’t really have any issues with dyna gro I just wanted to give something else a try
Ammonium Sulfate... I have very high PH hose water and years of it has pushed my yard soil way to the alkaline side and the AS lowers soil PH. 25-0-0. Greened up the last grow in veg when nothing else I tried did. BNW
STEP 1 imo start a compost pile!!! Then a place to grow, yada yada. when all else is done maybe your compost will be ready.
This is my first year trying my own soil. I have 2 plants in Happy Frog and 2 plants in my own mixture. So far, so good! Probably just up in my head, but I feel like my own are a just a bit healthier looking. Chances are I'll probably go this route from now on.
Miracle gro lol. People say that shit sucks but it doesn't. Grows the plant just fine up to budding then I'd get some foxfarms trio . It ain't that spendy and if used properly (don't overdo it trust me common mistake). - your plant and buds should turn out to be the Chronic Nugs.
Jacks brand nutrients are one of the best salt fertilizers at a fraction of the price of anything marketed for cannabis and work amazing. Check out their dynamic duo, there are plenty of examples of results on other boards. It is also dry nutrients that you mix with water yourself so a little mix goes a long way. When I grew, I used about 9 gallons a day and their 8oz tubs worked fine through the grow but for less than $30 you can get 1.5 lb of each that I gaurauntee will last a long time unless you are trying to go really big. https://www.jrpeters.com/online-store/All-Purpose-20-20-20-p184948020 https://www.jrpeters.com/online-store/Blossom-Booster-10-30-20-p184837332
