  1. I was wondering if anybody on here practices Buddhism. I would like to know because i was wondering if you could let me know a little bit more about it or link me to a site that has good information about buddhism and will teach you about it.

I am asking this because I am interested in Buddhism and it has been something i have wanted to practice and partake in for a while but never knew all that much about it. If you help me out will very much appreciate it. :D

  2. Bypass all the reading bull. Just go to Asia. Find some monks. Become a monk.

  3. Just learn the four noble thruths and the eightfold path.

  4. Four Noble Truths.

    Eightfold Path.

    The precepts.

Look into those.. Do some research and you'll find the answers you're looking for. ;)

If you want current Buddhism (sort of) I'd suggest looking up the Dalai Lama. Listen to him, he's a wise man. Also, check out his books too

  5. no offense but stop being lazy and research it your self. Its to long to give a good enough discribtion on a thread. I like to look at "Buddhism" as more of a Self improvement and way to make your more well rounded, then an religion. their countless different types of medication, you need to find one that works for you, but when you do it feels amazing IMO, Felt like I was breathing pure cold liquid air that felt amazing rolling down my throat and felt it through entire body. Itshard getting use to meditation with the unconscious breathing but its worth all the effort. Good luck. What I like about Buddhism is that they dont try to covert people by jamming their beliefs down people throats or think people are evil if they dont believe in their beliefs. The thing I love most about Buddhism is that there is no "Faith" *involved, all the laws they give you can be tested to see if they make sense/work with your beliefs.

  6. Personally I have no religion. I believe if you do the right thing you will go to heaven, which I believe is just being one with God. If in the end the bad you've done out weighs the good, then you will spend eternity in hell. Hell is just your spirit alone, in total darkness. This life is purgatory, do the best you can and live for what you know in your heart is right.

  7. I truly enjoy Alan Watts' approach to Buddhism. You might want to look up his following works: Oriental Philosophy, Myth and Religion, Buddhism: Religion of no religion.

  8. I am not religious.

But if I could be, I'd most likely be a Buddhist.

The answers to religion cannot be found through a quick search on the internet - it takes many years of careful research and contemplation to even begin unearthing them. But good luck to you on your journey!

May I ask why you're interested in it when you're not too sure about it? *Out of genuine interest, not being demeaning*

  9. read and understand the 4 noble truths , and read the 8 fold path , and meditate

you might also want to try read this collection of buddhas sayings , The Dhammapada - The Buddha's Path of Wisdom

and try to keep in mind youll find the same subtle truths here in every faith in the world , the truth is inside you , not from outside you in the clouds
