    Hey GC,

So ive been posting now for a little while and i figured i might as well get some journals going to show just how Buddha grows his buds. This will be the journal for my soil grow. This is the focus of most of my energy and its also the majority of my harvest. i have another grow space but its for experiments/fun growing. Anyways for this well be growing 2 Barney's Farm Crimea Blue, 3 White Label White Skunk, 1 nirvana bubblelicious, and 2 nirvana blue mystic. The plants were planted on the sixth of this month so theyre currently on day 17 of veg. Theyre sitting under 1 400watt nextgen digital ballast. Im using a Hortilux Super Hps for both veg and flower with a Sunleaves Aurora 6 aircooled reflector via a 265 cfm hydrofarm exhaust and passive intakes. Im using FFOF and fox farm nutes as well. Im also using technaflora magical for mg,ca supplement. I will also be administering FoxFarm beastie bloomz according to the foxfarm schedule. So far plant growth has been great. Theyre currently sitting in 1.6 gallon containers but i will transplant them saturday or sunday into their final 3 gallon containers and we will be flowering at 1 foot. Also i topped 1 blue mystic and 1 crimea blue to compare how they yield against nontopped plants. either than that it is pretty much a straight up grow. Here are plenty of pics of whats going on and expect plenty of more updates. Feel free to ask any questions... this grow is open to the city.

EDIT: This journal also contains pics of a Nirvana Papaya.

  2. Sweet setup man, gotta love those tents, got one myself. Definately interested in the strains you chose so I'll be tuned man:bongin:

  3. so far these strains have been amazing to grow. very easy, very cooperative, and looking great. and thanks for the compliments on my setup. i like to keep it nice and clean, kinda gives it a high tech look that makes it fun to show off on the city lol. nice job with those LED's though. ive looked into them but thats some complicated/expensive shit. good luck with it though.

  4. Very nice setup. Simple and clean. I will be tuning in...

  5. thanks for the love... glad to have you on board

  7. Good lookin healthy plants you got there. Props, been seein a lot of people careless about nute-burn lately in the city. But hey just as a heads up, those look like their only a week into budding, week and a half maybe. Was 3 weeks ago when you flipped the light schedule or just when it sexed? I know my ladies always seem to take about 2 weeks to actually start flowering once I switch to 12/12. Last thing you wanna do is hack it 2 weeks early just cuz the calendar's off. Best of luck bro i'll be around:bongin:

  8. No flowers showed up 3 weeks ago but from what i read thats just how this plant goes. lots of little flowers and then they finish out in the last four. Ive had some problems with this plant though so i wouldnt be suprised if it has a stunted bloom. it was my girlfriends first shot at a plant and when it went horribly wrong i had to save it lol.

  9. Looks like you did a damn good job of saving it! :D

Based on the size of those clusters and the leaf coloration towards the center, I would say she is about 1 week into flower, maybe 10 days... Are you planning on harvesting in a certain timeframe? Or are you going to be watching the trichomes for maturity? The latter always produces the best results, which would be my suggestion. Best of luck m8!
    Peace

  10. watchin the trics for sure... no sense puttin all the effort into them if your just gonna cut em early. i figured this one would take a little longer to finish out which is why its in the impromptu closet grow all by itself. Its almost 8 weeks old though so i think shes gonna end up a real monster with hopefully a decent yield. ill probably post some more pics of her as she progresses just for some extra fun here and there lol.

  11. Just a little update. All the plants but one are still doing great. 1 blue mystic though is exhibiting some nute burn. i heard these plants were a little touchy but the other one is doing great so im sure it will be fine. the tallest is about 8" and the rest about 6. Im planning on starting flowering next sunday. Tomorrow i will put them into their final 3 gal containers and post more pics.

  12. DAY 21 Transplant Day
    Hey GC,
Today i transplanted the girls into their final 3 gallon containers. The roots looked healthy and the 1.6gallon containers werea bout 75% full. All went well and the girls are now back under the 400 watt. While they were out i also inspected all of the plants. Leaves and stems looked healthy with the exception of a few. I had read that both the Blue Mystic and Crimea Blue were a little nute sensitive early on but i had no idea it would be this bad. Plants are only getting 50% foxfarm veg formula currently and its still causing some light burns. The blue mystic took the worst of it(pic attached) and the crimea blue only suffered some light damage to the bottom leaves(could be natural shedding). Anyways i gave them more plain water just to flush them out a bit and well try nutes again here in a few more days. The bubblelicious is by far my favorite of the group. Its staying so tight and compacted you can barely see the main stem. 4 leaf sets already and its barely 4" tall! i love when plants grow super short like this and i cant wait to see how she grows here in the next week. The other plants are much taller though. The tallest(a white skunk) is over 9" and the average height is about 6-7". Overall im pretty happy with all of these strains so far. The CB and WS are a little more stretchy than i would have liked but they are growing well and very fast so you cant complain. Saturday will likely be their day of darkness and their first day of flowering will commense on sunday. cant wait to see how these babies bud out.

  13. Day 23
Well all is well in Buddha's Box. Plants are doing great and growing very rapidly. The tallest WS is now over 12". All the plants are between 6-8 leaf sets and because of this ive decided to flip the switch. The CB's and WS ended up being much more stetchier than i expected and i dont want them bearing down on the smaller indicas during flower. Tonight ill turn the lights off and the plants will go through 24hrs of dark. then well start 12/12 and everything should finish in the next 9 weeks. Here are pics of everything before we start the fun part.

  14. hello!! Great set up. I just purchased one myself aswell! I have a question if you dont mind. I was wondering if you have an intake fan bringing in air into the grow room. I will be using a 400watt MH light and have the air exhausting similar to yours. But I wasn't sure if an intake fan was necessary. Does it get hot enough in the box that an intake fan would be necessary? Weather just broke and is very cool, im not sure If I would need one. I will have an oscilating fan going aswell. Any help would be great or more pics. Iwould really apprecaite it !! THANKS

  15. well soundscience you definately stopped by the right thread. i actually run 2 tents and neither is connected to an intake fan. Your exhaust will suck out air and in turn suck in more air through the vents at the bottom to replace the void. the only thing i do is make sure that 1 of the side vents is always open and the back vent is always open. this allows plenty of air flow into the box. My 400 watt box(2x4x7) stays at about 76-79 degrees this way and my 200watt CFL box is about 74-76. Ambient temps in my room are actually about 74-77 so if youre running cooler than that you should absolutely be fine. look at the pics from my first post. As you can see it vents through the air cooled reflector where it meets with my 265 hydrofarm blower that sits ontop of the box. thats what the stuffed animals are covering up. From there exhaust through my filter. You can use filters for exhaust or intake as long as you buy the right kind. in my experience its more efficient to place it at the end of a system when venting the way i do. some will disagree though. sorry if this doesnt answer all your questions but right now im rushing for work lol. if you need anything cleared up let me know. ill be updating the journal tonight with more pics so ill snap some of the vent system then too.

  16. Great. Some more pics of the vents and exhaust set up would be great. Do you have a speed controler connected to the exhaust at all, or does it work fine without? THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR HELP!!!

  17. Well GC a little bit of bad news. My girlfriend went out of town over the weekend and took the camera with her so unfortunately there will be a delay on the pics. Im due to pic her from the airport tonight but i probably wont get a chance to post the pics til tomorrow. I will be sure to get them up though. Oh and science, the filter for this box is due to show up either tomorrow or wendesday so you might be able to see the whole setup. either way well get you straightened out bro. Anyways heres the write up on the grow.

    Day 5 of Flowering

The plants have been on 12/12 for 5 days now. so far not very much stretching. the indicas are staying nice short and the white skunk stayed about the same. The crimea blue stretched a little but its more sativa and even its stretch has been little. So far only hairs on one of the White SKunks(the largest) they showed up after 3 days and this plant is looking very promising. already considering it for my next go. All seeds are fem so hopefully all girls. They got one dose of FF flower nutes. No real problems except some nute issues with the one Blue mystic. trying to work it out but i heard these can be quite fussy so well see what happens. besides that still cruisin waitin for buds to show up. Ill have those pics up tomorrow for sure and ill probably also throw up some more pics of that Papaya i have growing. Its really taking off and this plant looks great.

  18. Ok so without further delay here are the pics. All of them have hairs showing now except for the CB but im sure theyll be showing soon. I also threw in some pics of the ducting and the fan and new filter sitting on top of the box. The stuffed animals keep the fan from being visible. soundscience if you want more pics of any particular part of have questions feel free to ask... its fairly simple though but very effective. Theres also one pic of the papaya i posted earlier. Its due to finish around halloween but i think it might take longer. lots of bud sites and theyre really starting to improve in size over the last couple days.

  19. Ok so all the plants have an abundance of buds coming in. with the exception of the CB these are all suppose to be some quick flowering strains. I gave the plants a dose of full strength nutes last night and this morning they seemed to be liking it. The blue mystic still seems to be a little touchy but i think theyre getting there now. All the indicas are staying very low and compact. the bubblelicious is my absolute favorite and you can see how tight the internodes are but also how many bud sites it already has coming in. its gonna be a very big yielder but also its very small. The white skunk is the fastest. it already has the top cola coming in and you can see pistil errupting from everywhere. i tried to get a shot of it but well see how it turned out. Anyways i know im not posting alot of pics but there doesnt seem to be much interest so im just keeping it updated. if anyone does want pics of a particular plant or strain just let me know. til then ill probably just keep these weekly updates.

  20. Everything looks so neat and organized; nice job.

Is that last pic the Bub? If so, it looks very similar to my #2 pheno over in my journal. I like that one! :D lol

Awesome job so far, keep it up...
