Bud effecting eyesight?

Discussion in 'Medical Cannabis: Treatments & Patient Experiences' started by le4ch, Feb 20, 2004.

  1. I have been smoking pretty much everyday for the past 5 or 6 months , and now i have after images. This is where if i look at bright colors then i move my eyes away they are still faintly there.

Anyone ever hear about this happening. The eye doctor suggested that i see a neurologist(sp).

    Thanks!

    Comments please!

  2. if u're a heavy daily smoker i heard u get that...i get it once in a while after toking but it doesn't bother me....

when i'm stoned and even after this, my eyesight is noticeable better....

  3. i read somewhere that there were tests done on... actually i think it was in hightimes but anyways there was tests done on smoken inproving your eyesight at night and they proved that it gave u a 5 percent increase in effectiveness oer some bull spit like that :p you just like that

  4. its pretty normal if you read a paper that is purple and then look up at something thats white it will appear green. This happends becuase the cones (maybe its rods, been a while since a learned this) that are showing the purple color get tired and when you look at something white to overcompensate the purple it show the opposite green or yellow. Sorry this is a bad explanation but go to the library and get a book on psyhcology theres tons of info about how the eye and mind work together, it may help you understand why it happens.
All i know is weed doen't effect the nervous system a great deal so i doubt thats whats causing it, it does however expand the blood vessels and releases pressure behind the eye, hence bloodshot and glazed looking eyes. So a neurologist(sp) if its that bad but if you stare at something for a minute it or over its pretty common.

  5. Thanks for the great information,

It's not jsut purple opr bright colors, it's anything, ebven a human outline.

Maybe i will see a neuroligest soon.

    thanks,

  6. i read the same story as hobbes, and yea it was in hightimes...................
the cones and rods in your eyes can and are tricked easily all the time. somtimes when you take the stimulis (sp whos suprised?) away the cones or rods? are still reactining to the stimuli. and you still see an after image
