ok so i was out scouting for some good grow areas today. I found a few great grow sites, i mean like a big open area in the middle of the woods with a lot of sun light where just little furns grow. The only problem is the big open area is kinda marshy. you can still walk on it with out sinking in but i couldent plant in the ground, it is just too wet. My question is, I want my plants to grow big, how big of a bucket should i use? I was thinking a 5 gal??? I have neaver grown in a bucket befor. any help would be great..
it might work, youd have to be very carefull about it being so wet and soggy. but i have heard that the bigger the hole or bucket the bigger the plant will be. im not sure if this is true or not. but a big ass bucket filled with dirt isnt light, lol. you might be better off just finding another spot.
You would have to water your buckets everyday just to keep the plant dying from the hot sun. buckets tend to dry up really fast unlike planting them in the ground. Oh and when you are planting outdoors make sure there aren't any wildlife that would eat you plants. If you are planing to do the bucket method I would advise you to plant them near a water source and do it.
you would need to water 2 days a week,it would work build a stand or something to keep it off the swamp. do 2 plants easier to travel dirt/water gl bro cheers
from my experience of outdoor. I literally had to water the buckets everyday. The soil medium was drying up so fast that if I went a day without feeding it water the plant would of got droopy and look sick, then when I watered them they would spring back to life.
What about drilling a few small holes in the side of the bucket and putting the bucket in the ground. The soil should absorb some water, from the swamp, but keep most out. GL
