Bubble Cloner

Discussion in 'Do It Yourself' started by tplat, Feb 2, 2011.

  1. I followed Rumple`s tutorial on how to make a bubble cloner and just have a few questions. I know I still need to pick up a heater but what temp should it be set at and our tap water has an average Ph of 7.2 and is hard water with alot of calcium and magnesium. Should I go with some RO water from the grocery store and adjust the PH of it since the brand they have in the water machines always PH tests at 5.5? Even if I let tap water sit out for a day or two the Ph doesnt change much.

    rumple has an aero cloner

don't use house water in any cloner... its gonna clog up the nozzles, use the R.O.

I wouldn't mess with the water... after re-reading the thread... he says over and over.. nothing but water... and even on the first page of responses, do not use tap water

  4. The small size heater thats at wal mart works fine. There is no temp adjustment, they are automaticly set at 72* Use distilled water only. The ph should be okay. You can also add a couple of drops of superthrive but it is not necessary.

  5. Ok 72 degrees for water temp. I thought I read 77 degrees somewhere. Just doing a few test runs with it to get the water temp where it should be. I got a heater that has a temp dial on it fully submersable.

  6. you should do fine:D

  7. Just made bs's bbl cloner. Awesome. Fits perfect. 2?s. My pump is for 10 gallons, in a 3 gallon container, as I need only a few. Is that enough? And distance of stem to water
¼above or below? Much respect to budslinger.

  8. thanks bro 1/4 above... dont let them stem sit in the water..
just right above it..even an 1/8 is good...

  10. I'm trying to clone Cypress trees in this guy as well.

  11. What about using RO water? Its a cheaper out of the water machines in Safeway or Wal Mart. Safeway has Glacier brand and it always PH`s out at 5.5 and Wal Mart has Culligan that always PH`s out at 5.0.

  12. I use a purifier pitcher. Easy to deal with & manage.
