I take a look at my roots on my 6 site DWC system with 6 vegging plants 14 days old and there is brow slime looking stuff all over the roots so I flushed my system and sanitized it, then rinsed all my roots best as I could but could not get them 100%v clean but pretty good... WTF is this brown slime what am I up against here?? I refilled the res and tossed in a little bit of b-1 thrive alive and boost to help them recover but not sure if they will, ph keeps hovering around 6.5 will get some ph down on the way home from work today or might flush the res? Any Suggestions on what the hell this is or what it could be the actuall roots aren't brown just had brown crap on them so I'm hoping its not rot???:(HELP!!! OH by the way all this brown stuff started a day after I used nutes in my res for the first time at 50% strength tecnaflora was thrive alive B-1, Boost, Grow,Magiccal, and sugardaddy Could I have done something with the nutes that created this ??? Thanks A day after I flushed the system the brown slimmy stuff has came back on my roots they almost look dirty?? Please help ideas suggestion whatever that could be of interest. Thank you

  2. Any Ideas.. Help

  3. Probably the beginning of root rot.

Get a pool thermometer (they are very cheap) and take the temp of your res.

  4. What is your res temp @?

  5. 76 last time I checked I'm sure it has went higher than that though because of high room temps..??

  6. Wow man that's way to high! It should be at 65 no higher then 70 that my friend is your problem I had the same issue I had to cut mine completely I now freeze water jugs to keep my res temp down I just got a potable ac also summer is here but good luck hope you can find the solution!

  7. Your only other hope is to put individual low power pumps in your reservoirs. As for the temperature issues just keep them on timers. I recommend 15 to 20 min every 6 hours.otherwise your gonna have to clean and rotate one single pump as you go through and individually spray off ALL your roots;every other day. Also using pythoff helps to from flairform. Good luck man.

  8. You have pythium and unfortunately vitamin b-1 helps the bacteria just as much as your roots. Stop using that until you have this problem under control cuz they explode with new growth. As above posters mentioned you need to lower your temp ideally to 68 degrees. Use h2o2! The stuff is amazing. It eats all bacteria in your reservoir and breaks down to h2o and additional oxygen. How often are you cleaning and refilling your buckets?

  9. You need to get the temp down.

Depending on what your re$ources are, I say get a chiller.

If you can't afford it and you have the time to swap them out, then use frozen water bottles.

  10. ok I will work on my temps and try and keep them down. On advice of hydro store guy i bought some compost tea and are try that also at this time. I also think I might have allowed to much light to my roots when i cleaning res noob mistake. Hopefully I can turn this around. Thanks for the info..

  11. The compost tea I bought from the hydro store seems to working well. There's a large amount of new growth and the slime is almost gone. The compost tea I bought is called Natures solution compost tea its two quarts concentrated and will makes 2and a half gallons of tea Great stuff so far..

  12. Try the brown slime root cure link up there. The tea that cure makes rid the brown algae and helped root growth immensely trust it.
