My little plant is about two weeks old. From the seed in a mg peat moss medium.. first grow. Any suggestions
At the momeny i only have two 23 watt cfls. Had one with a 65 watt flood light i had laying around but have since stuck wit the 2 cfls. heres a few more recent pictures.. I flushed ot with distilled water but no signs of getting better
It looks ok. iIs prolly a ph thing or a little stress. seedlings are very sensitive. As for myself I would add one more of those CFLs in a couple weeks. I typically don't hear of people using flood lights. Id have to see a picture to be sure. CFLs on the other hand are very popular, particularly for vegetative stage growth. I'm guessing the flood lamp gets pretty hot. In a few more weeks u mabee able to add a fourth CFL or switch to Two CFLs of higher wattage. CFLs aren't known for producing high yield flower crops from my personal experience. once im ready to flower i would switch the CFL over to 150 watt or higher if Ur sticking indoors. LED are a option. I also would plan to sex the plant asap so your not wasting your time with a Male plant. the browning could come from heat. If your seeing healthy growth, i personally would not change much around with it for another 10 days or so. Once it doubles in size (roughly) then i would feel comfortable enough in the plants strength and you can start messing around with changing to outdoors/transplanting/sexing/increasing lamp wattage.
-- UPDATE - Umm they were doin fine up until most recently I started to see more browing.. Still yet to transplant.. And the tips of the new growth don't look to good. distilled water still. Bought soil but the bag was full of live bugs.. All I have is peat moss, so shuld I just transplant it into my 5 gal with just peat moss??
That depends on what kind of nutrients you are going to be using. And something to keep in mind, I think peat moss has a low ph, so that might have to be taken into account.
There's a lot of homework to do here, I fear. What you're doing to that plant right now is the equivalent of having a baby and keeping it tied up in the basement with a steady diet of water and whatever the dust gets blown in with. Then when it grows up and becomes a serial killer, everyone looks perplexed and goes what happened? Here's what happened. Every living thing has basic things it needs to grow, and right now, you're giving some of the things but in all the wrong quantities in all likelihood. There are a million threads on light, water, nutrients, and atmosphere. For anyone to describe the entire contents is beyond the scope of one post, but I do know this is true: those people, that go digging for the info themselves have the most success. If you like, post the exact brand of medium you planted them in. I'm pretty sure we'll find some clues there right out the gate.
