Bronchitis? and smoking with it.

Discussion in 'Seasoned Marijuana Users' started by Maui_Waui, Feb 27, 2010.

  1. For a couple mornings now, I have been spitting up greenish-yellowish mucus with little traces of blood. It seems like bronchitis and not pneumonia since there is no fever involved. I was just wondering if this is something I need to see a doctor about, or something that I can cure on my own, while still toking.

  2. Get that shit checked out man. I get bronchitus at least once a year it seems like, and my doc says if it goes untreated long enough it can turn into pneumonia.

  3. im pretty sure its not good to smoke when you have bronchitis...since it effects your throat

  4. I highly suggest you get it checked out. Blood in the mouth can come from various reasons ranging from picking the nose to lung cancer. Hopefully its just a nasal infection.

  5. Man, iv been gettin bronchitis like once or twice a year since i started smoking, but i never stop smoking even though i know thats what causes it. But hey, i always go to the doctor just because he will give you a bottle of syrup(codeine) :D Keep smokin an go see doc

  6. I dont know, but coughing up blood tainted mucus is not a good thing. I would stop smoking for a couple days and see if it goes away.

  7. Go to a doctor and get a fucking Z-Pack, dude!

Source: Childhood asthma causes me to get regular upper respiratory infections. Shit happens to me at least 10 times every year.

  8. So, I suppose the overall consensus here is to go see a doctor. Now, I'm only 18, and haven't gone to the hospital much, so I don't really have experience with medical procedures and what not. Well I guess what I'm asking is, can I go to any doctor? Like at a clinic, as opposed to a major hospital like Kaiser Premenente or Sharp. And would they need my health insurance info? Would it cost money (Being unemployed, and broke) to check something like this out? And would the doctor keep it confidential? As to not tell my parents about this as I live with them, and I suppose my health insurance is under their names.

  9. i seem to get bronchitis all time cut back on the cigg smoke

  10. uhh go to the emergfency room an tell them u dont hav any money, there obligated to help you, but dont go unles its bad, keep smokin green, dont smoke tobacco

  11. I would go get it check out asap blood in mucus being coughed up bad thing, and bronchitis seems to just stick around forever without meds but goes away quick once u start taking them, as far as smoking if you have a vap go for it or try edibles the herb helps but the smoke is harsh while ur sick

  12. Try to find an urgent care or Patient First. They take pretty much every insurance and require only $10-20 out of pocket. Even without insurance it's only about $70 (before lab and medicine costs). I just got over pneumonia. I was coughing up mucus with blood in it. I never had a fever at all. Go to a clinic. Untreated pneumonia is fatal.

  13. Can be fatal, but only if it develops into complications.

Tell your parents you have Bronchitis and ask them to take you to a doctor.

  14. Dude I had the same thing and it was bronchitis and like 3 other things, but you don't want it to turn into pneumonia, Go to a CareNow, Patient First, or PrimaCare or something and get your sick ass on medication.

I hope you feel better soon!

    Lol, thanks.

Yeah, man. I just finished a pack of black n milds, so I'ma stop smoking tobacco for a while. Along with bud, after I finish these last couple grams I have left.

  16. why dont u vaporize or make a phat batch of bud brownies?

  17. Go to a doctor, get some medicine and then vape or eat it. Don't irritate your lungs more than they already are.

  18. Well, I think it's gettin better. The phlegm has gone from brown (either dry blood or resin/tar) to a greenish color. Furthermore, I haven't spit any blood up even though I've still been toking out of mah bong.

Anywho, I know most of you suggest that I start vaping, but I'm pretty much strapped for cash, atm. And I know those things cost pretty hefty. I heard vaping through a lightbulb was just garbage. So I guess the other alternative is to eat it.
    So, tea or baked goods?:smoke:

  19. i haven't made any baked goods yet but Ive made tea once before and i got super high i would defiantly recommend it esp if your sick

  20. Yikes man, I don't care how much I like getting high, I will not *smoke* with brochitis. I once had it so bad the coughing was just killing me, it actually caused me to crack a rib. The pain was so bad I had to vape and it not only helped a lot with the pain but lowered the frequency and severity of my coughing.
