Bromine Barium - 400w DWC "SCROGaganza"

    Alright guys, here's what you shouldn't know....:cool:

    Strain:
    Bubba Kush (feminized) from a local seedbank


    Lighting:
    400W HPS (Electronic Ballast w/ reflector)
    161 watts of CFLS (maybe for a seedling/veg area)

    Setup:
    10 Gal DWC with built in SCROG
    (got the idea from here... http://forum.grasscity.com/do-yourself/418198-diy-dwc-bubble-scrog-bucket-i-e-super-bucket.html )

    Nutrients:
    GH 3 Part
    (only using Micro and Bloom w/ Lucas Formula)
    Hygrozyme ?

    So i drowned the bastids in water for 24-36 hours....and once i notice a crack or a lil speck of taproot into the pH'd RW.

    at this point i just put her in the net pot with the hydroton and wrap it in a zip lock bag...rip a hole for some venting at the top and a few days later voila...

    I had them under CFL's for a couple days...hand fed them water every other day til i hit it with the HPS....now i've heard of ppl going start to finish with HPS with not much different results...other than node spacing...but i hope someone will chime in on this matter

    7/29/12 im counting as Week 1 of Actual veg and here are the bitches (hopefully)..it looks like i got 2 different Phenos?

    Pretty cool to grow indica and sativa. Are they going to get the same nutes the whole time?

    Well they were both supposed to be Indica's but apparently i got "pucked" so this is what i got....

    Yah...i've heard ppl using Lucas Formula the whole way through with the same nutes and got great results...so i doubt i'll be changing it up.

    Other Variables I missed...

    6 gallons water
    3tbs Micro
    6tbs Bloom

    ppm: 527
    brings my pH to 5.9

    will be upping ppms as the grow progresses...but i dont wanna burn them...

    should be fine until they reach the 2nd or 3rd week.

    waters warm....

    would love your feedback...as i am still learning...3rd actual attempt at growing...2nd with hydro so..but i've done quite the bit of research...and ive figured out...that i dont know SHIT...
    hahaha

    so much to know...as i am still trying to dial in....so bear with me

    Sweet I'm in as well! Ask away with your questions then ^ :) I personally saw more growth with my MH cause I went a week and a half with my HPS.. But it wasn't fully taking off yet either the first week so who knows! It blew up after I put it in the DWC and under the MH.. What's your temps and RH?

    yeah i got a package deal with the ballast...but it didn't come with the MH bulb...
    meh

    currently looking at craigslist for some bulbs but everyone has 600s and up...no 400...

    currently we're sitting at 82F at plant level...78F ambient...
    RH : 45%

    so not bad...res temps are 65...slightly warm...

    ph is still at 5.9...i heard bigger res' fluctuate pH less....plus...there's not even that many roots yet..

    oh and what do you guys think about the gas lantern technique to cut on energy costs?

    Cool your rH, temp, and res temps all sound good.. pretty sure below 70F is good for the res. why not just order a bulb online, they aren't really spendy.. If your short on money just stick with the HPS it will still work.

    JJ is going to disagree and say GLR is whack, the idea of it is.. I've seen it work great for quite a few people though, even on side by side tests.. Typically showing preflowers at about two weeks and the growth was better then 20/4 lighting at least for this person. I've never done it and probably won't because my tent is to small to experiment on my main crop even though I've seen proof of it working.

    i actually am gonna add another fan later to cool it down just a tad more...and the wife thinks i spent a tad too much already..even though she's the one who needs it more than i do...go figure...they think we can make a mountain out of an ant hill...

    i'm going to check out the hydro store for some bulbs i like to have things right then and there...waiting for my lights took FOREVER...haha

    hrmmmm....im a bit speculative on GLR as well...and i haven't seen enough or heard enough from blades that it works...but it sounds like it would work.

    It works, no doubt about it.. I've seen several grows that have only used it and their plants look as normal as any other veg plant and like I said the side by side I saw actually grew faster. I'm not saying do it, but there is no ill effects from it.

    I take it out of the chamber for an hour mid day, been doing it since starting 12/12 from seedling...


    IMHO, what a joke this little bitch is.... :rolleyes:

    You should be trying it on a non auto though!

    Nearly all the autos I've seen are jokes.. A small few are great, the rest look like shriveled mutated shit!

    I'm thinking it's the seed.. I've seen lots of good results.. Try with a clone that you'll throw out. I've only seen it really with clones.

    i heard autos are good if u're doing like 25 of them in SOG...

    i wonder if the Auto-BB will still be tasty though...

    i'm gettin the itch to buy some seeds...i think i need some backups on hand if these things turn out to be males...gonna slowly build up a veg chamber for some new seedlings/clones might as well put the CFL's to use...

    thinking i might do some Sour Diesel..Reserva Privada...my wife loves this strain...

    it makes great hash too from what i see...

    Ya seeds are a great idea, make sure they're fem.. And autos are a cool idea, I've never grown any.. Most the journals I've seen with autos I just want to laugh my ass off and for some reason the same people keep ordering them!
