Broke Illadelph Downstem

    Title says it all. I shattered my downstem and now I need to purchase a new one. The thing is is that I'm not sure what to get or where to get it from. I was thinking of either another illadelph downstem or an Alex K or something like that.

    Who makes the best downstem??

    go to your headshop and ask for one. If there a good head shop they will have a illadelph stem and bowls and the external perculators.

    top three downstems on the market are the leisure 6 arms, the SG 180degree gridded downstems and the alex k showerheads. now, from what i understand each downstem has an application it works best in. the luke wilson is the best single chamber downstem because you can tilt the tube with no worries of uneven perculation in a second chamber. the alex k and SG downstem both are better for double chamber tubes since all the holes can be utilized without tilting the bong.

    The only headshops that are close to me are mediocre at best.

    I'm assuming when you talk about the 'luke wilson' you are referring to the leisure, correct?

    What would be the best place to order one online. I was looking at Aqua..., EDiT, GC and others. What online headshop offers fast and cheap shipping?

    i got the Black illadelph showerhead...its got a fat joint.

    it never gets dirty..or at least i never notice any resin build up...but i do still clean it with a brush every so often.

    Yeah the illadelph downstem are pretty nice. I'm thinking about getting an alex k to start expanding my glass collection. Also the alex k downstems seem to be closed at the bottom other than the slits and in theory wouldn't that prevent anything from dirtying my bong?

    not it wont make a difference in how dirty your piece gets...if you are worried about that get an ash catcher or carbon filter.

    the Alex K and the Illadelph are both closed off at the bottom.

    The illy downstem that I had was open at the bottom. Do the replacements have the cross on the bottom?

    The closet decent headshop is about 75 miles away and being in college and without a car my transportation options are limited. I'm just looking to order one

    Luke and Alex in single chamber tubes and sg in a perced tube.

    yeah, leisure is luke wilson. idk why he feels the need to interchange the names.

    but yeah, what this guy said. for the most part :p i got an alex k for my new tube coming, and with a "leisure" disc bowl, i feel as though all slits should fire evenly.
