    Young
    Marino
    Elway
    Aikman
    Moon

  2. It was kinda expected I guess, last year was a great one for him, but he took some pretty good shots during the season.
No doubt he will be in Ohio in 5 years, I cant say I was a Farve fan, but I was a fan of the way he played the game.

    Peace out Favre

Quarterback Brett Favre told Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy Monday night that he was going to retire.
But his agent, James (Bus) Cook, told the Journal Sentinel this morning that he believes Favre wants to play another year and didn't get the sense that the Packers wanted him back all that badly.
"It's my opinion," Cook said of the Packers' lack of interest. "I know he wants to play one more year. I do not know much conversation there was (between Favre and the Packers) and I don't think anyone forced him to make that decision. But I don't know that anyone tried to talk him out of it."
Cook said that Favre feels physically and mentally capable of playing at least one more year.
"I think he wanted to play," Cook said. " I think he's still got it. He knows he's still got it. I think he felt he could play one more year. I don't know if they told him they really wanted him to play. That's just the feeling I got."
Cook was asked whether he thought Favre could be talked into returning: "I don't know," he said.
McCarthy said recently that he and general manager Ted Thompson sat down during the bye week of the playoffs and evaluated tape of Favre to determine whether he could still play. McCarthy said that they came to the conclusion that he was still able to play the game at a high level. During the off-season, there were reports that Thompson had not done much to encourage Favre to return and that Favre's feeling was that the Packers weren't fired up about bringing him back. After reports surfaced of Favre's uneasiness about Thompson's lack of communication, Thompson told reporters at the combine that he called Favre to talk about the future.

  4. To be honest, he was the only reason i watched the nfl anymore... the only man that truely had respect for the game and not just the cash...

  5. He was kinda upset with the front office last year, I think he thought they had a chance at Randy Moss, & might have, but the Pack didnt seem interested. Sometimes, after giving so much to one team for so long, it would be nice for them to realy want you back, maybe not beg you to come back...but at least show some respect & interest. He has won Championships for that team, but its a business, & he's leaving with a bank full of Millions...so I guess they are even.

If he wants to play next year...he will, someone will pick him up. Maybe the big Tuna!?

  6. Wow, this is big news

Who's his backup, anyway? Some scrub? Do you think some big free agent is going to get signed there? Are there really any besides Daunte Culpepper (who blows)?

  7. Damn, that sucks... I thought after last season he'd come back for another but I guess not...

His back up is Aaron Rodger's, I think.

  8. his last throw of season 07 was an interception that led to the giants victory lol.

farve was good.. definitely will be missed. green bay is done for.

  9. im a browns fan and even i couldnt say farvre was GOOD.......whatever
the greatest ever or in the top 3...............

  10. Top 3? No. But very close.
Favre won THREE MvP awards. More than anyone else ever has.
And he is a very respectful guy, great football player and modest.

  11. It sounds like his manager just wanted to stir up a little mess. But I could be wrong. If that's true then Packer fans will have Thompson killed.

The packers are far from done for, also.. They still have the best receiving core in the league. (as far as yards go).

  12. its a very sad day for us up in WI.Dude is a GOD around here I mean GOD.He's up there wit Miller around here.Everyone knows who he is or knows about him.Damn i remember when i was lil watchin him play and now im older.I basically grew up wit Brett Favre in his career cuz i grew up from a lil kid to a man now. That's how everybody feels about him in WI man this fuckin sucks.I thought at least one more year cuz we were reall close to a supe bowl this year.FUCK I'm bout to blow a BLUNT OF CHRONIC fohis dude right now.One of the BEST EVER!!!!!FAVRE 44444444444444444

  14. Yeah I know thats crazy, and The Packers are definately picked to go to the playoffs if not the superbowl next year and he retires wow, but that other guy that backup quater but be able to pull off some stuff this next year he just needs some more playing time and I think he'll have something for The Packers.

  15. Brett Farve is one of the classiest guys in all of sports, and has the toughness and numbers to be considered the best ever, atleast for now.

I think Peyton will someday get that title. And we cant forget about Tom Brady

  16. I'm a packers fan 4 life because of him, so I'm going to deeply miss my homeboy favre. After the giants game, it all became to clear that the physical aspects of the game have taken a toll on him, even though he had an amazing season. Packers aren't done, they have a lot of talented players, however, they are missing an experienced leader which was lost in favre. Rodgers has some leadership qualities, but his durability is questionable he has only played a handful of games, and has been injured numerous times. They need to bring in a veteran qb for the leadership/competition, or at least draft/sign some competition, so rodgers doesn't slack off. Matt Ryan plz?

  17. Yes, yes we can...

  18. are you all serious? classy? modest? TOP THREE?! wtf? Of course he was a great player but *in my opinion* he shoulda retired two years ago. I'm glad his reign is over and now its time to move on. I'm a niner fan and I said the same thing when Rice went across the bay to Oakland so no I'm not a hater, just honest.

    :smoking:Go Niners

  19. agreed.

  20. Farewell to Favre, I respect you, but I hate you as a Seattlite for dumping my woeful Seahawks out of the playoffs twice recently. But truly, I hate Matt Hasselbeck more for saying "We're gonna take the ball, and we're gonna score", and giving President Bush an honorary Seahawks jersey...ugh
