Hey yall. My buddy will grab one when its about a foot tall, and just break the top of it.....is that a common practice when stressing them?
You want to use the pads of your fingers to squash the plant matter that makes up the stem/branches. That way it's easy to bend
To bend an older hard wooded plant I'll get the pliers out and crush a 12 inch zone and fold her over 90 degrees. The crushing acts as strain relief and fluids flow past the damage. A straight "Snap" can kill everything above it if done on to stiff a stem. A better routine is to thumbnail indent a small area where you want the bend on a young plant. BNW
