Breaking Bad Sleeping Habits.

  1. What are some good ways?

My sleeping schedule has been completely whack as of late, and it's really starting to mess with my daily priorities, my social life, and it almost feels like it is starting to effect my health? As if I'm not getting enough sun exposure or something?

Usually, I will stay up until about 6 or 7, and sometimes 8am, and not wake up until 4-5pm. I always tell myself the night before "I'm gonna get up at a reasonable hour tomorrow. I don't care how tired I am". But when tomorrow comes, I open my eyes in my bed, still half asleep, and I say to myself, "GET OUTTA BED!" The next thing I know I'm waking up at 4pm.

I've tried doing the all-nighter thing, but I usually end up passing out by noon or 1 and fucking up my schedule even more.

    What works for you guys!?

  2. 12 hours before you want to wake up is when you want to stop eating stuff.
    7 pm = 7 am ect :smoke:

  3. Stay awake until the time you want to start falling asleep..

    fall asleep then,

wake up time you want to start waking up regardless how tired you feel, and stay awake the entire day, you will be able to fall asleep at scheduled time again no problem.

either that or you can fast for a day or so and you wont have energy....

  4. A couple years ago I was in the same situation. Here is what I suggest:

    1. Non Prescription sleeping pills such as melatonin. You can get them at Walgreens and they aren't addictive and have no side affects, but really help you fall asleep. Take 2 about 30 minutes before you want to go to bed.

    2. Wake up by 10 am at the at the latest during the week. Any later pretty much guarentees you will be up late.

    3. Caffenate when you wake up. Drink a lot of caffeine to get you going and keep you going through out the day.

    4. Stay busy. Work, school, exercise, whatever. But for me, if I'm just sitting around doing nothing, I get tired when I wana stay awake and then am too awake later on when I wana be tired.

    5. Don't smoke within 2 hours of when you want to go to bed. it makes me distracted, and I usually get excited about some random song or idea and stay up super late.

These were the main things that helped me break my crazy schedule. GOOD LUCK

  5. go buy some melatonin, no its not a sleeping pills (sleeping pills dont work) it's a sleep regulator, for things like jet lag, plus it gives you vivid dreams, hit up your local pharmacy or wal mart whatever its on the shelves, and no negative health effects with, saved my life

  6. shit i see the sun once a week at most cause of my sleep schedule

  7. Same. I always am horribly upset at the end of the summer when I realize I only went out at night.

  8. If you have the time what I used to do when my sleeping order got fucked (staying up till 6-7-8 a.m.)... What I did was just stay up. Once it's already 6-7-8 a.m. I would just stay up until a reasonable time like 10:00 p.m.. Then I'd be super tired and get to bed at a decent time. Wake up at 7-8 and be fresh and ready to go back to sleep around 10-11.

  9. When i saw the title i thought this thread would be about Breaking bad the show.

    Now im dissapointed... :(

  10. Melatonin works really well, its what your body already makes to make you tired, plus its an anti oxidant, so it's really beneficial, and my dreams rock now haha.

  11. Just man up and stay awake for an entire day.. It sucks but it'll help get your shit back together... 4PM is ridiculously late blade.

  12. Thanks for the tips guys! I'm off tomorrow, so I'm gonna attempt the all-nighter thing again. And if my schedule gets back on track, I'm definitely buying some melatonin!

    Another question though..

What are some tricks to actually GET UP in the morning? I find that's where most of my trouble lies.

  13. I normally set two alarms... one 30 minutes before I need to wake up and one right when I'm supposed to wake up that requires me to get out of bed to turn off. Get out of bed quickly when your second one goes off. When I get out of bed quickly at my second wake up the rest of the day just melts before me. Crush a glass of H2O before you go to bed and as soon as you wake up.

  14. Or you can smoke...last time I checked marijuana raised your melatonin levels a little bit

EDIT: if you're trying to reset just go with the not eating thing. It works

  15. Make it a two or three day process. Do your normal thing, wake up at 5PM. Then you stay up as long as you can. Let's say that's noon. So you go to sleep at noon and wake up at 11PM. Again, stay up as long as you can. Let's say you make it all the way to 6 or 7PM, which you should be able to do. Fall asleep, wake up at 5 or 6AM, bam, fixed.

  16. damn i thought i stayed up late watching adult swim till 4am but 6,7,8? whats the fuckin point its all infomercials

  17. You just gotta get up man, it sucks but keep reminding yourself this pain will only last 5 minutes. Turn on the light and just let the process do it's thing. Splashing cold water in your face works well to if you are hurting,
