Hey i was wondering how i would go about buying and knowing Which kind of breaker to buy so i dont have to switch the breaker on and off if it makes something go out. Are they hard to Install i know where to get one by my house but i was wondering which one to buy im running Four 600 Watt Lights 2 Heaters and Two Fans it is in the Garbge and it is split in half with Traps in between and there is a 120 Ez clone machine in a Closet in the Garbge With a Shop Light in there also. Any input please?
I didn't have to do any rewiring with my grow room. I would suggest totaling how much wattage you have going and look up what amp breaker you need to run that much wattage.
Get a professional to install a new breaker, monkeying around inside your circuit box is not a good idea.
This seems rather simplistic. I had an electrician friend come out and look at mine. I'm fine for starters...but need to run a couple of new lines once I start adding more ballasts. And having a professional look at it put my mind at ease. You can't just go adding new breakers...wire and outlet might not be correct for the amperage you choose and you could have a house fire.
add up your total wattage then divide it byt your voltage if its 990w divided by 110v = 9 amps you should try and stay under about 80% of the current rating for the breaker . to avoid overload ie 20 amp try and use less than 16 amp
I'm not exactly sure what you are trying to do--your post is a little unclear. But it sounds like you are tripping your breaker. Be aware that you cannot simply remove a breaker that is tripping and replace with a larger one. Larger breakers require a larger gauge wire. Otherwise they will overheat and cause a fire. With a 2400W light set up and all the other stuff you need, I would suggest running a dedicated circuit to your grow room--probably at least a 30 amp. Your heaters are most likely 1500W. Do you have space in your breaker box to add a breaker or 2? You might want to consider running 220 into the room and then splitting into 110.
You will need a dedicated circuit for your room with that much light. When I set up my new room of only 1k of light with fans exhaust etc. I was almost at 15 amps which is what most household breakers and plug-ins are rated at. That left nothing for the other stuff on that circuit. I had a friend come to my place and run a 20amp service to my room which cost me around $100. Of coarse I did not tell my friend why I needed him to do this which I suggest strongly, word of mouth travels fast! I suggest that anyone starting a new grow of 1k of light or more have you electric checked for safety.
