Jackson Tn Stopped at Casey Jones Home and Railroad Museum Dinner at the Old Country store Buffet. Nice big selection of dishes including one of my favorites Black Eyed Peas. Peach and Blackberry Cobbler to finish off. Several of the Cabooses were used in the past as hotel rooms but the desk clerk said it's been 5 years of so since they were used. I'd suspect Insurance cost put a stop to that. Left Jackson and headed west again. BNW
Waffle House for some breakfast. Biscuits and gravy and an egg over easy for me. TTS had a full setting .
Electric Streetcars in Memphis Tn. The one I was chasing got away in traffic but an oncoming one showed up right then so it was all good. Departed Tn for Arkansas. BNW
Headed for the Mid America Science Museum in Hot Springs Ar. Much of it is hands on interactive displays you can play with. Headed West and stopped at Lake Hamilton and did some looking around. This was the low rent district on the far side of the lake from the resorts around Hot Springs. Headed further West and stopped for the night in Ft Smith Ar. Dinner at the highly Rated Thai Chicken Bowl - 2100 Rogers Ave Fort Smith, AR 72901 Nice little mom and pop place with great food and a high attention to detail and service. BNW
Sweet backseat view of the road across the country; maybe a few shots of the more colorful locals as well. Folks love being on camera.
Up early we hit the local Train Museum in Ft Smith. Left Ft Smith Ar and headed West on I40 to Oklahoma City Ok. BNW
Arriving in Oklahoma City we found our way to the OK City Historic Museum. Leaving Ok City we Headed for Texas. BNW
Welcome to Texas Really lovely rest stops. Water tower looked about to keel over. Spending the night in Amarillo Texas. We'll hit the Cadillac Ranch in the morning after some local exploration of this city. With just 230 miles to cover to get to Trinidad Co we have time to look around here. BNW
With not all that far to go grabbed some breakfast then doubled back a few miles and looked around the Amarillo Tx. Rail collection. BNW
Rocking on down the highway not far out of Amarillo we stopped at the Cadillac Ranch and applied some paint. As did quite a few others while we were there. BNW
Working our way North we finally reached Colorado and Trinidad. I do promise to take more pictures of the Brick Streets and maybe even some of the very cool 1880s downtown. We covered most of Commercial street and it's 7 shops and saved the several on Main st in walking distance from the Motel for the mornings adventures. Think the guys in the 3rd shop said there are 20 Cannabis shops in all in the city or just outside. Retired to our room in the early afternoon and got Hammered !! WOOHOO Grabbed a bite at a hole in the wall that was more take out then eat in but surprisingly good Mexican fare and the price was very sweet. More cash saved for (THINGS). LMAO. BNW
Now that you're medicated, maybe you'll point that camera at the scenery (not the tourist trap crap). There are rivers, and trees, and mountains all around you.
LOL The scenery doesn't translate all that well on cell phone pics but I'll try and get more (Nature). Not many old rides Doc. Lotta rusted heaps that'll never move again. and a lot of old 50s chevy flatbed trucks as signs. Should see more better condition old stuff as we get further west and dryer conditions. It's still winter up here and we got a little sleet this morning. Old cars don't come out till May or June up here. About shot my ready cash on meds and I'll be hard pressed to use them all. I'll sure try hard. Gonna tour more of the old main street and do some good old window shopping. if we can stand the wind and cold. BNW
