I got a brand new milwaukee ph tester yesterday and i calibrated it to 7.0 with the ph buffer that they provided. I went to use it today and the readings where wayyy off! Now i have to go and buy more ph solution. I hope that this thing is not broken already. Is it because i kept it in a cup of water? I did this because it said on the package to keep the probe wet. I hate these god damn digital ph testers i might just go back to using drops they never lie you just cant dial the ph in to an exact number like 5.8 but it gets you close enough i think.
Mine works flawlessly. It's stayed calibrated forever. I check pretty often, and it's always right on at 7.0 or goes up to 7.1. Don't store it in water, you should use some storage solution, or use the calibration solution. I store mine dry and it works fine. Keeping it wet will shorten it's life but keeps it ready to use right away. Storing dry takes a little longer to get an accurate reading but it will last longer. I have the cheap yellow milwakee meter for the past 4 years.

This milwaukee is actually supposed to be a step up for me! I was using a knock off from china that worked great untill i dropped it in the water that i was testing lol. im very worried about this new milwaukee i just got i think there might be something wrong with it...
Ok, it's the water then. When I drop mine in water it goes crazy for a day or so until it fully dries out. I just put it in some rice to help dry it out quicker. Never mind, I read wrong. I thought you dropped the milwaukee in water. I don't remember when I first got it, if I had to keep re calibrating or not until it smoothed out. Just try keeping it dry and check the ph??
Bluelab makes fantastic meters! I use one that mounts on the wall with sensors that are submerged 24/7. It's the only way to go, IMHO.

I have their truncheon ppm meter and it works great! How much did that meter cost? Was it for ph only? It would be cool if that one had temp. too!
That's it! Truncheon meter! I thought about picking one up for mixing my rooting solutions, and foliar sprays. Is it waterproof?
