Im going to be starting an outdoor plant in a couple of months, it will be my second grow. I bought 10 gallons of cheap potting mix for it, which has those fertilizer beads which is enough for vegging, and I have some good blooming nutes for when its ready too. I cant use native soil because its a hard clay area where I will be digging the hole, Would it make sense to just fill it with the potting mix with about 20% perlite mixed in for airyness and a bit of water retention? I see these soil mixes in the stickies with so many things in but I just want to keep it simple. Thanks for any help.
Add some sphagnum peat moss also Make sure to dig a good size hole if surround dirt is clay! I got that around where i planted a plant also. Nasty stuff makes me wonder how anything grows in it
So say if I use 70% potting mix, and 20%perlite and 10% peat moss, would that be ok? Are you sure its neccessary?
