Bought Clone Before Researching Organic Growing - What To Do?

Discussion in 'Growing Organic Marijuana' started by Monkey55, Dec 12, 2012.

  1. Hey,

I'm new to growing and somewhat new to cannabis altogether. A couple of weeks ago, I got my letter of rec for marijuana for pain relief. I since decided to grow my own and built a wardrobe grow box, then bought a clone (Purple Kush).

When I bought the clone, I didn't know how I was going to approach the soil and/or nutrients. I have decided to grow organically, especially since our household eats and drinks mostly organic food.

After reading to the point where my head was going to exploded, I found that the organic soil recipes need 3 to 4 weeks to "cook."

My baby clone has already rooted and needs to be transplanted asap, according to my friend.

So, I'm thinking about getting the top soil from my wife's vegetable garden. It has had leaves and dead plants laying on the top of the soil for months. Then, mix that with some Pro-Mix so I can transplant the clone into a bigger pot.

    What do you guys think??

I've tried to do more reading/research. However, I'm not sure I can fit anymore information into my brain. OVERLOAD. [IMG]

    Since you guys like pics.

    Thanks...

  2. Rinse the roots off, but it in a bubble bucket and use some general organics or something.

  3. Thanks for the reply.

I'm trying to search for an answer. However, I can't find out why it needs to be rinsed.

I'm assuming that the soil, that it came with, probably has non-organic material in it. Can you clarify as to why it needs to be rinsed??

By the way, I don't have a bubble bucket.

    Thanks,
    O

  4. A bubble bucket is a bucket of water with airstones in the bottom that keep it bubbling. The plant sits in a pot on the lid with the roots in the water and the bubbles keep it from drowning. It'll grow really fast. You'd rinse the dirt off the roots to keep it from getting in the water.

  5. THANKS for the link. That's exactly what I wanted to find. I just had no idea what search terms to use..

Ok. Thanks for the info. I'm assuming that's call hydropanics..
I'm not ready to experiment with it yet. I'm just glad that I got my grow thingy up and running. ;)

Thanks for the info. I really appreciate it. I read as much as I can and try to only ask questions if I can't find the answer or would like feedback.

All of this is a whole new adventure for me.
