Ok, So I've been looking into trying my first coco coir grow and from what I've learned from my research is the coir holds a significant amount of salt than soils. I was wondering if a weekly/bi-weekly flush with clearex would help alleviate some of the build up? According to botanicare it is meant for this purpose but have yet to grow coco.

I've been using Botanicare products for as long as I can remember and will be using the CNS line of nutrients. Full list and grow details below....

Any thoughts on the clearex OR any other info please feel free to comment.

  2. Coco retains a bank of nutrients it uses as a buffer. Salts in general can build up in coco, but no more so than in rockwool or perlite. You should beware chlorides, bicarbonates, and sulfates as this can contribute to salt build-up.

I don't think you'll need the clear-x until you're into flowering. Earlier on the coco is building that buffer which is essential to the CEC and the reason coco is such an amazing media.

  3. Cool man, Thanks :smoke:
