Boost bucket???

  1. Are you guys finding it works better to run to the back of a fan or to each individual plant? Also does this system even compare to a co2 gen. or bottles?

  2. Not even close.

At the end of the day, none of the other methods can raise the level of co2 high enough to noticeably increase growth. Yes, they produce CO2, but not enough to actually do anything for your plants.

To put it another way, it would be like adding a flashlight in your grow room to increase the light. Yes, it would add more light, but not enough to actually help your plants, to say nothing of the hassle of having to always recharge it.

  3. Right. $100 a refill every 60 days...ook it looks like im going to have to drop a bit more money into this grow.

  4. jesus christ! how much co2 are you using and where the hell are you paying a 100 bucks for a refill. My 20# tank was a hundred dollar deposit and only 30 bucks to fill...hmm you need some cheaper co2 suppliers. And yes those are the ONLY ways to get co2 do not waste your time with buckets or mats or any of that other voodoo.

  5. Haha no the boost bucket refill is $100 and it last 60-90 days. I only see an improved growth rate for a week or so with a new bucket and the last yeild blew! I have a few more questions!
Who makes the best regulator for the money?
Is the controller something I can invest into later?
My take on a beginner co2 system, all I need is a co2 bottle, regulator and some sort of tester. Is this correct? If not what am i missing?

  6. You need a 20 lb tank, a regulator and a timer. Once you figure out the sq cubic ft of your room the regulator/timer kit will come with direction of how to set it to get your desired ppm in the room. Hydro farm makes a nice regulator kit that comes with a timer and hosing. Its about 160 bucks. You don't necessarily need a tester, since the directtions will get you close to your desired ppm...although I want to ask does anyone have a recommendation for a cheap good co2 ppm tester? I want to get one but don't want to spend a few hundred dollars...?

If you just want a monitor and not a controller, I know they sell some meant for building ventilation use, but even those are more than a hundred last I checked. You can get single use test kits, but I think those are like $25.

  8. Your statement about your yield makes me think you might want to look at something other than CO2.

CO2 is good, and if everything else is dialed in, it will give you a significant increase. That said, if CO2 levels are not your bottleneck, it won't do much for you.

In order for that extra CO2 to do your plants any good, they have to already have plenty of lighting and lots of nutrition. If your yields are poor, you almost certainly aren't meeting the plants needs well enough that CO2 will make the difference.

  9. Few things are more of a rip-off then CO2 boost buckets.

  10. Christianity....

  11. yeah I had a number of thing go wrong with the last grow that helped kill yeild. got all the BUGS worked out installed the titan reg. and a 20lbs tank got the $14 test kit and im holding strong at 1500 ppm and what im seeing in a day is about what i saw in a week last time. hahaha sooo stoked!

  12. I just test my co2 levels by breathing very heavily in the normal air (about 350 ppm) until i black-out, I then go into the grow area and repeat the same breathing technique. Dependin on when I hit the ground, compared to my control, is what my ppm is. Fail-proof...and most of my braincells dont mind the lack of oxygen.

  13. Hahaha you should try that with a plastic bag over your head! that way you can release your co2 right onto your ladies...
