I'm looking to read some books on Fascism but I'm not exactly sure where to start. I don't want something which is simply an analysis and critique of Mussolini, Hitler, etc. nor am I seeking a novel based around Fascism a la Orwell, I'd much rather like a book simply on the concept of Fascism. Does anyone know of a good one?
If youre looking for books that are in favour of fascism than you might want to check out Imperium by Francis Parker Yockey, Revolt Against the Modern World by Julius Evola and the essays of Carl Schmitt and Oswald Mosley.
I was certainly not looking for books in favor of fascism, though I suppose if I'm going to read critiques of it I should read the other side as well, for the sake of fairness or debate or something of that nature.
Well... both Starship Troopers and The Moon is a Harsh Mistress by Robert Heinlein might be worth looking into. Ignazio Silone's "Bread and Wine" about the triumph of the Fascists in Italy. All Quiet on the Western Front is about German soldiers at the peak of World War 1. And, of course, Animal Farm.
I'm not certain what you're looking for or if conflicts involving fascists such as the ethio-Italian(italo-Abyssinian or books concerning things such as Apartheid Government of Southern Africa. But if so easily searched out book titles available for both. I just read South African Dispatches: Letters To My Countrymen by Donald Woods a reporter and friend of Bilko who was exiled to the UK because of his criticisms of the Apartheid subsequent to the death of biko .
