Bongs- Quality or Quantity?

Discussion in 'Smoking Accessories Q&A' started by retrac, Jan 28, 2011.

  1. Hey all, if I could get some advice from some experienced tokers that be great! Ya see, I want to invest in a pretty nice bong ($300-400), but I'm slightly lost at the hype over roors, especially .de...
If im spending 300 on a straight tube roor.de with a nice roor diffy, i understand im buying an excellent (maybe slightly overpriced) bong, and im at least guaranteed it will rip!:D But couldn't i spend that much money or a bit more on a multichamber tube? something with a couple percs even if its not a roor? how could the quality of one tube be so great it outweighs the benefits of a similarly priced perc'd bong?

    I appreciate all your input!

  2. Idk man is a bong worth 300 bucks? I've never paid over 200 and even then it felt like a waste. The sad reality is that eventually that bitch is gonna break, some small accident or something and then your out 300 bucks. Obviously, that being said, big glass bongs are the smoothest pieces you're gonna find.

I just bought a plastic bong for 35 bucks, tastes like shit and the bowl is brutal but it gives me a good high.

  3. haha I would not say it's quantity of chambers > quality of tube. If I were you, I'd look at a third option. Alternatives to the RooR that are not multi-chamber and are around the same price.

You could get a sovereignty stemline (1 chamber) for $300 or less, maybe an Itza bubbler or a small Toro?

I got this Itza for $250 for example. I'd get this over a RooR all day. Simple GonG tubes are boring, you could get a locally made one that's the exact same thing for a whole lot less. You probably couldn't get a locally made equivalent of this bubbler though (nor would a simple GonG tube rip even close to as good as this thing)..

  4. The best you could probably get around 320 is a Sovereignty Stemline. It would definitely rip much better than a similar priced Roor.

  5. SG Stemline V2 is nice and it's 320 on ALT it's a decently small tube and thick glass so it will be a bit harder to break. Could also look into SYN i just payed 400 for one of the mini showerheads and it is excellent...worth every penny beautiful and built pretty nice...been takeing care of it like a child.

  6. oh yeah bladeyoustain you reminded me

ive heard roor is roughly half as likely to break as cheaper glassware. I dont know if thats true but there must be durability benefits from quality glass without imperfections... right?

    thanks for the advice everyone

  7. defi.... ive never seen a piece over 300$. and he has some stemline to circs coming out, circdisk, circdisk to disk, real interesting stuff.

  8. SG Stemline any configuration for the 300 dollar price range. It's all about that perc and how crisp it rips, after that its personal preference as far as height, bore width, mouth piece style etc. SG may be production, but they have a lot of different configurations to suit any smokers needs

  9. Whatever you buy I would likely say go stemless...less pieces to break and clean....Another thing to consider when it's your first time investing a big sum of money in a piece is you want it to be something you wouldn't mind using daily.

Because you paid a large amount of money it your gonna wanna use it alot but something big is gonna get taxing. (I chose a 2 foot tall weedstar messias as my first piece and then realized that smoking out of something the size of a table lamp can be a bit overkill at times.)

Also look around...don't just buy a RooR because they are a huge name...you really do pay for the reputation they have but I don't necessarily feel that roor does it any better than any of the other high end companies and RooR doesn't offer nearly as many options as some of the other high end companies.

  10. ROOR is old news. Don't waste your money.
